Ridiculously poor customer service - Daniel at P.A.W.S. made a reservation error today and did absolutely nothing but make excuses and put his error back on me. I heard, ""what do you expect trying to book on such short notice before a holiday week"" and ""I just brought home a new child today"" (well then maybe someone who is not half asleep at the wheel should be running the place). \r \r To be honest, if a place treats a potential paying customer this way, I am probably better off not having my dog stay here. It also became clear that not all customer's are treated equal...he mistook me for a returning customer and had space available on ""short notice"" without hesitation (he did not bother to dot his i's or cross his t's until after he confirmed the reservation). Upon learning his error, he called back to tell me that he did not have the space he had before because there is some elaborate screening process that can not be done in a week...is he for real? You can't screen my dog over 7 days because you are just too busy between now and then...right? Kind of like why you had space before and then all the sudden you don't. \r \r No way to treat a potential customer because you know what Daniel people have last minute plans come up and you would expect a business to try to amend for its error instead of making the potential customer feel like they are in the wrong for not calling P.A.W.S. sooner - no thanks Daniel, I deserve better and my dog certainly does too...\r \r Paul more

My husband and I were just shocked to read Tammie's posting and had no idea that Kamelot was shutting down. We have used this kennel for our 6 year old Golden for a couple of years now since living in Milford and can't say enough about the care they have given our dog. I agree with all of the postings except the negative one that the care and love given there has been outstanding and it was such a relief to find this kennel when we did. We had tried many others and always felt awful leaving him. They have been so accomodating to us- we on many occasions called the day before and asked if they were able to take our dog the next day- we never once were told no. They genuinely loved our dog. We are so upset to hear this news and are very very disappointed. Kamelot is by far the best kennel we've found and we will miss it dearly if it really is closing. \r Carrie and Joe M. Pros: these folks LOVE dogs....great facilities b/c not only are they a kennel but they have a big fenced in area where the dogs can go out and play together so they aren't stuck in a kennel all day. more

I worked for the owner for years and remained best friends. His kennel shutting down is going to be a great loss to this area. I remember driving there everyday of the week in snow not being able to make it up the hill but, he was the type who went and spent thousands on a driveway so people could get up. I know the woman who ran the kennel. in fact I hired her. I am upset with the 4th review I am so sorry you feel if someone gets sick that it was taken out on your animal. But I don't know how. The owner was unable to get up to his kennel that was built with all his love, all his knowledge, and his dreams. His spirit will live there as part of my life was in that kennel caring for all the animals that came through the door. Tanya gave it her all and then took care of him at the end. A special kennel is being shut down now. A landmark of Mendon. I only wish I could keep it going but, it is shutting down this Saturday. So quick. We just lost a wonderful generous man. Now this. I guess the kennel will be dying with him. Not a wise decision but, good help ,lots of love, went into that building. I only wish I could do something. I know he didn't want this and neither does Tanya his help or me. I am going to do what I can so he is not forgotten or his landmark. Tammie more

My small mutt has been to this kennel now on 3 occassions in the past 2 years. She has stayed for a week at a time. Each time, she comes home happy, has not lost any weight so she appears to continue to eat and she appears to be very well cared for. Maisy is a skittish nervous animal and she fairs very well here. She always returns with her bedding and her lovies in tact. I would reccommend this Kennel to anyone. And I swear she misses playing with the other doggies! After a week at home I think she goes through withdrawal and misses them! Pros: friendly staff, dog always appears happy and well cared for on return more

I utilized the services of Kamelot Kennnels of Mendon last year (July 2007) when we took the family on a 10-day cruise to Alaska. Before contracting with this kennel I interviewed over a dozen area kennels and Kamelot was our first choice. A very clean facility, attentive staff and very knowledgeable regarding our breed of dogs (I have two Weimaraners [both boys] ages 6 & 10) I felt confident that my ""boys"" would be well looked after. I was not dissappointed!\r \r I do like their option of grooming your pet before sending them home. \r \r Bottomline -- I would utilize this facility again and recomend them to any of my friends in need of a kennel. I'm posting this response to the previous review for the owner of Kamelot Kennel.\r \r This kennel is very clean and the accusation of sick dogs is mystifying. The kennel is run by a full-time manager, as it has been for many years. The kennel is also available for viewing by appointment. \r \r You can be confident that your pet will be well-tended at this kennel. more
