P.F. Chang's is a gorgeous place -- the artwork, the banquettes, the table settings are chic and modern. The ambiance is wonderful. The servers are friendly, professional and attentive. It's the food that doesn't really measure up.
The entree quantities are huge, although you are definitely paying for it. I tried their signature dish, the lettuce beef wraps; they are fairly bland. The pork dumplings were also bland and seemed mushier than those at other Chinese restaurants. The lo mein was just okay. I did really like our side order of green beans, but that was the only standout.
It's such a disappointment to me that P.F. Chang's food isn't outstanding, because most of Nashville's Chinese restaurants aren't very attractively decorated and my enjoyment of a meal out is really enhanced by the surroundings. P.F. Chang has the look but doesn't follow through with the taste.
