Great place to meet friends or just a business lunch 3/23/2009

I love this place. The menu has something for everyone. Pasta, steaks, fresh fish or my favorite the bananas foster. They have the best bar in Memphis. The decor is so inviting. Thank you Brennan's for bringing a little New Orleans to Memphis. Keep up the good work. Pros: Best atmosphere in Memphis more

Run like hell 2/17/2009

My wife and I went there for dinner on Valentine's Day. It was our first and last time going there. I'd made a 5:30 p.m. reservation days prior only to get there and be seated at a table. The food was overpriced and bland. My dish was cooked too fast. The cheese on top was hard, and the dish was soupy. My wife and I don't eat pork or red meat, and since the regular menu wasn't available, we should have gone with our gut and departed for Red Lobster. Management made a decision not to allow patrons to swap their sides out from the Valentine's Day menu that night. The bread was also hard as a brick.\r \r The server sensed that we weren't happy and asked if we wanted to see a manager. By then, we'd figured out that the GM was lady managing the hostess counter. The place is plagued with problems, starting with the GM. The server later sent the owner's son out to speak with us. He begged us to come back, ingenuinely. We told him that we were extremely disappointed, and this was a bad first impression. In addition, we disclosed that we wouldn't be patronizing them again. more

the worst so far for quality and price 2/15/2009

One star only for the music. \r We went last Sunday to Owens Brennan . The food was horrible . The pastas were too spicy., the asparagus has their tips already cut off. the table clothes were dirty. Half of the desserts were already gone. no bread at all. \r Coffee bitter as it can be . The server did not say a word . except when he brought the bill. \r This place is a disaster for the quality and way overpriced. Pros: music Cons: food service more

great food and atmosphere 7/28/2008

This is one of our favorit places to eat. The portions are very fair and the food is well seasoned and cooked well. Love their desserts.\r The place was extremely clean and the servers were always there with water, drinks and that great bread from Gambinos.... Pros: food, location, romantic Cons: can't get in for lunch more

Awful Service 7/1/2008

I visited Owen Brennan on Tuesday, July 01, 2008 during lunch with my boss and I must say this is the worse place I have ever visited! The waiter did not even return to our table while we were dining to see if we needed anything. Also, The Hostesses at the front entrance were not smiling. We do not need businesses in Memphis like this. I would not even take my pet to this restaurant. HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE. This is how bad it was for me, If they offered me a free meal - I would turn it down. I HATE THIS PLACE!!!! Pros: No Pros! THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE Cons: When you first enter the place -TURN AROUND AND WALK RIGHT BACK OUT THE DOOR. more

lousy wannabe creole/cajun.... 4/19/2007

good location, just a horrible imitation of regional LA food\r \r I can't recommend this place to eat, drink maybe, but definitely subpar Pros: location Cons: just about everything more

Best Dinner I've had in a while 3/25/2007

My wife and I were looking for a quiet romantic evening and we found it at Owen Brennan's! I had one of their steaks and it was outstanding and my wife had a pasta dish that was too die for. The Wine list was outstanding and our server was great, my compliments to the chef! Pros: Great Location Cons: None that I saw more

One of the WORSE 9/24/2006

Bad food, insulting portions, awful service, good location, decent bar area\r \r Get a grip, hire some chefs who may know how to interpret a lttle LA food, this is NOT it Pros: location is good Cons: everything else more

INSULTING to the Brennan name 6/27/2006

By far the worse attempt at Louisiana food I have ever had...PASS on this stuff, location is good but their service is horrible, and it's not cheap either....a rip more

Great food, wonderful brunch! 8/11/2005

My boyfriend and I were in Memphis for a wonderful weekend and didn't know where to eat breakfast. We just happened to pick up a restaurant guide and starting looking for brunch. We found Owen's by there heading of being voted #1 brunch in Memphis! Fabulous decor, great live music, bottomless Mimosas! Great omlete bar and Belguim waffles! Our waitress was moving a little slow but other than that it was great! I recommend for a great easy relaxing brunch! Pros: location to downtown, service, ambiance Cons: tight seating more
