Bread is just as great as it is at all the other Outback's. It's crowded on the weekends, so call ahead. But if you like Outback, this place won't disappoint. more

The Big Miss 1/13/2003

Outback may have the biggest, but not the tenderest or the tastiest steaks by any stretch of the imagination. I have tried 3 different times and was very disappointed each time. The steak was tough, It took 3 tries befor they could figure out what Medium rare was and the overall experience was a real let down. I will not go back. Pros: big portions, inexpensive Cons: better cut of meat, train cooks, decrease the noise more

The food is excellent, from steaks to baby backs, and especially the coconut shrimp appetizer, our personal favorite. We are always met with a smile, and get great service and good food at your location at Chesapeake Square. We prefer the bar, as we enjoy a relaxed atmosphere. For quieter dining, try the dining room. A great place for good food at a reasonable price. Pros: Great food, Excellent Service, Great atmosphere Cons: Can be crowded, Drinks are expensive more

Waits are too long for seating. no reservation policy exudes the attitude that they don't care about regular customers - someone will always wait in excess of an hour to eat. Portions of steak are definitely sparse when considering the price. These prices are expected in 5 star restaurants with ambience. Pros: Cheerful Cons: Too expensive, Crowded more

Norfolk and the Tidewater area try so hard to give the impression that this is an up and coming metropolitan area and then destroy that notion by ranking the Outback the best steakhouse in the area. The food here is very average and the few times I've been conned by friends into eating here, it has never been cooked the way I asked. Apparently, the only choices are still mooing and burnt to a crisp. I urge the residents of Norfolk to try a less commercialized restaurant; perhaps something local only.
