Pretty good, fast delivery. They forgot to add bacon to my order, which I paid extra for. The burger was pretty good. more

My best choice of what would deliver after 10:30 on a Saturday night. The food was hit-or-miss (mostly miss) and way over-priced for the end result. Worst part was the delivery guy tried to make me feel guilty, saying that they stop delivering at 10 --- even though it allows the order to be placed until 10:45 pm --- and the restaurant itself is supposedly open until midnight. I kept saying "sorry" he kept complaining. Maybe he wanted an extra tip ...? Will not order from here again. more

We ordered at 5:45. Our food arrived at 7:30. This is inexcusable. The restaurant blamed the driver, the driver blamed the restaurant. Obviously, the food was cold. The Buck Wheat Pasta was horrible, featuring the fakey taste of French Onion Soup Mix. Ugh it makes me sick to even think about it now. The creme brulee was good, strawberries were fresh. more

Not a place for a party! 4/27/2009

I agree with the other reviews – food in this restaurant is good and I can’t complain. Service is mostly good. However, the owner of this place is not the most honest guy.\r \r Let me explain. I had a birthday party in this place for 20 guests. Besides, that we have been charged unheard of 21% tips (very nice round sum), on the bill we had other several charges that I only recognized the next day. I called the owner who agreed with me. We parted with his promise to review and him asking me to call back in couple days. I bet, you figured out by now that he never again took any of my calls nor called me, myself (such a nice person he was when I was setting up the party). Thinking he must be a busy guy, I even asked person on the phone to check with the owner and credit my credit card for the overcharged amount (huh – huh – huh). Seems my chances on collecting this money are very slim or rather non-existent…..\r \r So, perhaps , a dinner for two in this place is Okay (please don’t drink too much and check your bill carefully). Under no circumstances, I’m recommending this place for a party to anybody! Pros: Food is good, hence one star for that Cons: Overcharged! Owner is not very honest more

surprisingly delicious!! 11/18/2008

we took my grandma for dinner for her bday here and i was pleasantly surprised! because when we got here and i looked at the menu of this restaurant i thought to myself what the hell kind of restaurant is this? it has won ton soup (chinese) then it had some borscht (russian) spaghetti (italian) the menu just looked like a mushed up different types of food all together. however i did order the eggplant spinach salad with mushroom dumpling (OMG MAY I SAY DELICIOUS!!) then i had the ragu bolognese (OMG EXCELLENT!! ) i normally ask for extra sauce and extra cheese but it came with it all without being ordered!! my grandma ate their special which was seafood pasta, that was quite delicious too. it had mussels from maine which were small-medium , shrimp, calamari etc usually calamari i have experienced are kinda tough and chewy esp if it is in pasta with other seafood this one was soft and tender!!. im getting hungry just thinking of it. my mother got lamb shank she loved it!! we got tiramisu and that was DELICIOUS! needless to say we will be back!! Pros: everything! Cons: the bread could have been warmer and self parking could have been more spacious nothing else i can think of more

Best ling cod fish plate ever!!!! 11/9/2008

The food is consistently good. NEVER had a bad dish and we have dinned there dozens of times. Highly recommend. The dollar salad (yes, it is $1.00) a nice add on and enough for a salad taste?Love the Potato Varenky as appetizer. Try the ling cod, incredible!!! Pros: FOOD FOOD FOOD - really good food. Service super friendly and nice Cons: Ambiance is nice, but not my style more

One of my favorite restaurants in town 9/23/2008

I am a restaurateur; my family ran a very successful casual fine dining restaurant on the westside for over a decade. From an insiders perspective, the Out Take is a stellar operation. The food is consistently very good, the service motivated, the wines diverse, the prices reasonable and the parking easy. While the decor isn't par with some fancy westside restaurants...who cares? My family and I have been dining regularly at the Out Take for years and have not had a single experience that was sub par. It's truly city caliber food at valley prices, without any city attitude. Pros: Food, Value, Wines, Service....just an all around great place Cons: Ambience more

I really enjoy this place. Fast friendly delivery, food is always good, never disappoints. I'm still trying to eat everything on the menu. more

Consistently Great Food 3/19/2008

One of my favorite restaurants simply because the food is ALWAYS good and is there any other barometer for a great restaurant. Gotta have the potato vernisches (sp?) for an appetizer. After that, you simply cannot go wrong with any entree. Enjoy! oh, the parking is tough since this place is so darn good it is now so darn popular too...but well worth the wait or the walk. Pros: food, food, food Cons: parking, parking, parking more

Five star food for three star prices! 11/17/2007

Outtake is our favorite neighborhood bistro. The service is wonderful. The food quality is far beyond the price-range. The presentation is always impressive. The specials are consistently the best pick, especially if they are seafood. Of course, there is better food to be had in LA, but you'll be hard pressed to find dinner for two under $100 including wine! Brunch is wonderful as well. Outtake has mastered the art of cheap high end dining. The atmosphere is great as well. Enjoy! Pros: food more

not good food and service 10/29/2007

i went to this restaurant hoping to have a good meal. I was very dissapointed with the taste and quality of the food. The service was not up to the name of the restaurant. I waited to much between first and main course, the service needs improvement. i would not go back to this restaurant. more

Outtake Bistro 9/19/2007

The last two times we have eaten at Outtake, dinner food and service has been poor. Portions were large . but poorly presented, tasteless (Meat loaf sandwich, two slices about a half inch each). With the bun, the sandwich was too large to bite. French fries were cooked with spices that ruined the flavor. \r \r Service was poor on each occasion. Specials of the evening were recited rapidly, and not understandable. \r \r At the old location, quality, consistency and service were consistently outstanding. The new location is deficient in all three. We are not likely to return. Pros: Wine list Cons: Food poorly prepared and served more

Good food, reasonable prices 3/2/2007

I just at this restaurant for the first time and I would definitely go again. The prices were reasonable, and the food and service were really good. There is a nice atmosphere there. Also, they had some tasty vegetarian options. I loved the vegetarian wonton soup. more

Great Spot - excellent food & value 10/9/2006

We discovered Out Take back in the day when it was next door to Mexicali, and were wondering what happened... Now they've moved, and the new space is even cozier with a better menu! This place has great, healthy food and a good selection for reasonable prices. I like their choice of fish for a main course, or the stir-fried chicken & veggies for a lighter meal... My husband always orders the borscht, even if it's not on the menu (it's better than most of the borscht we've tried at authentic Russian restaurants). We recommend getting it cold, with a side of mustard & horse radish to garnish. Pros: Great food & value, open all day. Cons: No children's menu more
