\r I have not been on the mile for a while , it was my Birthday just wanted finger food and a few drinks with my friends last nite. This place should not be in business the health department should investigate this establishment. I got as far as ordering a drink when I saw the dirty glass and the bar area was extremely dirty that should of been my key to leave but after paying $28.00 for 2 drinks for my friend and I, we had to taste the drink (big mistake it was the worst drink any one have ever made me with grey goose at that point we left the drinks and walked out.. I can not even rate this place it is that bad.. If you visit this resturant eat and drink at your own risk. more

Unless you want somewhere to have a beer and hang out, Otto's is not the place for you. Five of us went there last night and chose outdoor seating. It was like sitting at a picnic table in a park. The band was lousy and loud, and the acoustics were extremely poor. The food was okay but expensive for what they offered. $22.95 for broiled filet of sole and a baked potato. I was at least expecting a vegetable. The green salad was tiny enough to feed a mouse. The clincher was the plastic drinking glasses. Thanks but no thanks. more

Went to Otto's last night and will never be going back again. Nice outdoor setting on the water, ok food, but horrible service and management. First we were given a waterside table, and after getting settled; told that we had to move because that table would be reserved. We were then moved to a dirty table with a stained tablecloth. My kids were immediately upset. We spoke to the waitress who said she would speak to the manager. She came back saying the manager said he couldn't do anything. When I asked to see the manager, he came to the table and I explained to him what happened. The ""reserved"" group had arrived and were seating at an adjacent table, meanwhile the table which we were moved from was still available. The nasty and unprofessional manager, Michael Castle said he couldnt seat us there..because they were waiting for yet another reservation. That reservation never arrived, and about 1/2 hr later, a group that just walked in were seated there. The manager was clueless and really didnt care, never even apologized or attempted to accomodate us. When we were leaving, I told him how disappointed we were, and that I would not come back there; he then proceeded to say, ""I dont want you to come back here""....THIS IS THE TYPE OF TACKY AND UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICE that exists at this DUMP...and the likes of a loser like Michael Castle at the helm..save your money and your appetite..eat elsewhere; many other great restaurants on the Nautical Mile. They only serve drinks in plastic cups if you sit outside. You don't want plastic? Sit inside! Do you serve glass in your backyard?? I waitressed at Otto's the summer I was 21. Yes, the food could be better, but the Nautical Mile is about atmosphere and good times. The prices are not much higher than what you might spend at Red Lobster, but at Otto's it's fresh off the boat. They have great live music Wednesday through Sunday (unfortunatley, the noise ordinance makes them quiet down by 11 pm). Anyone who's anone knows this restaurant. You go there to sit outside, drink and have a good time with friends or family. If you want better, quicker service you need to sit inside. When you're outside, you understand ""stuff"" happens. Thought this might be a nice place to have lunch. How horribly wrong I was. Took my girlfriend for lunch. Started with a bowl of clam chowder. After waiting almost 30 minutes, it came out cold and my girlfriend commented Campbell's tasted fresher. Shared a single crab cake that was hardly bidder than a silver dollar and was charged $17. The oysters were bad and after spending over $50 dollars, including $2.50 for a refill of iced tea, the waitress added on a $3 ""splitting fee"" because we shared everything! My first visit to Nautical Mile. Our experience wasn't as bad as some that I've read. Service was good enough. But the food was very pricey for what you get. If I'm going to pay $29 for a fisherman's plate, it had better have plenty of quantity OR plenty of quality. It was mediocre quality and small portions. $6 for a draft beer in a plastic cup. I did like the Manhattan clam chowder though it probably came out of a can. I'd go back but only after exhausting all other possibilities. Pros: Outdoor seating, live muzak Cons: Poor value more

Where do I start? DO NOT EAT HERE! Filthy establishment, tasteless food, awful service that barely speaks english, small portions, out of control prices. So bad they cannot even cook a hamburger correctly. Your arms stick to the table. Ketchup bottles with crud all around them. Gnats flying all around. The waiter was doing push ups on a barge in between waiting tables. Plenty of critters, needs exterminating. I barely ate my meal and had to leave. $24 for a small portion of frozen, tasteless tuna steak and dried out baked potato. My wife asked for a medium cheeseburger and got well done. We returned it and 20 minutes later received another well done burger with soggy fries. Need I say anymore. Pros: On the water Cons: Tasteless food, filty estab, awful service, too pricey more

We were there on a sat evening. For this type of resturant, it should be staffed with the best!!!! What we got was the worst! We sat for 15 min before flagging down the busboy for menues. The waitress brought drinks 30min later and then the beer was in plastic cups? Again we had the busboy bring us some bread. Nother 30 min for salads, 20min for a bowl of soup for our small child. Long story short. We watched 10 different tables all around us get mad about their service also. When we finally did get our food. It was cold. Swordfish steak dry and no steak knife. They brought the kids out the wrong meals and the fried shrimp was black and dried. And then the bill was rang up wrong. Don't waste time or $$ going here. Not worth it. Tables around is thanked us for finnally saying something. more

I have to get one thing straight before I write this review...I never write reviews, I actually joined this website so my point can be heard. We went to Otto's this past Saturday night for a friend's 25th Birthday dinner. We had reservations and still waited for 30 minutes for a table that we could hear each other speak because the band was so loud. First off, our waitress, Christina, told us that they didn't serve New Castle beer when the tap was in plain site! It took us THREE HOURS to recieve our entrees! When we finally were served our dinner the food was cold and tasteless. We really aren't that picky of eaters, but this food was really not worth a penny, let alone $23 for shrimp scampi (with 5 shrimp). Once we recieved the bill we split it up among everyone. We paid part cash, part credit card. We signed the bill (for the partial amount) and couldn't get out of there fast enough. Now we find out that they took the cash AND charged the credit card for the FULL amount! After arguing with the manager and explaining the bad experience we had, he finally agreed to refund the difference he owed which we will now have to wait 72 hours to be credited! You would think they would refund the full amount for the trouble we went through!!! Most of all, I feel worst for my friend whose Birthday it was who picked the place...she felt terrible that all of her friends had a bad experience and that the horrible dinner/service ruined her Birthday. I usually have a drink at the bar during the Holidays and it was at that time that a coclroach marched right over the bar. Ex-employees have told us not to eat there. The bathroom is fllthy, they overbook for that Thanksgiving dinner and most of all, we have seen things crawling around. Go figure! Pros: The place loks nice at Holiday time.
