Where to begin. First two visits waited over two hours in a room that was so cold, I was literally shaking. Dr. was otherwise professional on first two visits. However, I appeared to have a horrible UTI that was not responding to antibiotics . I informed the office that I was nearing the end of the second round of antibiotics, with no resolution, and, that my job was taking me to rural South America for a week. A nurse returned my phone call by saying ""the doctor said just to get more antibiotics while you are 'Europe"" if you need them."" I did get more antibiotics, and returned sicker than ever. To their credit, the office gave me an urgent appointment and saw me right away upon return. That's where the good news ends. \r

When the nurse took my vitals she pulled up my chart. She said ""I see you've had one pregnancy."" I said I was surprised to learn that, since I had never been pregnant. I wondered if they even had the right chart. She shrugged and said oh well I guess someone marked the wrong box. She asked me why I was there, and then asked me how to spell the word ""recurrent"", as in recurrent UTI... Then, I was taken to give another urine sample and in the bathroom, their were four OPEN cups of someone else's urine just sitting there on the stool next to the toilet!\r

I was informed by the doctor my last culture was negative for bacteria and that I could try different antibiotics and then see a urologist. I said I assumed the antibiotics could be supressing the bacteria in a lab test, but still be there to attack me. She said yes. I asked what could be another possible common explanation for all these symptoms. She nochalantly said ""bladder cancer"", as in go see a urologist I am done with this conversation.
