We have been going to Oswego Animal Hospital for over a year, They were the most cost effect place to board our dogs. Our one dog is 17 and really needs a special place were it is quite. They helped us out by putting him a special room, not with the rest of the dogs, The dogs have done so well their that we are going to move all their records there and use Oswego Animal Hospital as our regular Vet. We have always been so helpful with our special requests. \r Sincerely Happy Customer\r more

Best vet around! I have taken all of my cats there multiple times and I know I can rely on a knowledgeable vet and staff. They've always answered my questions and concerns with patience and understanding. The prices are more than fair and often my charges are less than expected. I will continue to take my animals here every time! It's so nice to see people who actually care about the animals they work with. Keep up the great work!!! more

Caring and understanding 11/12/2009

My fiance and I recent purchased a bassett hound from a private owner. She was NOT well taken care of. She has round AND ring worm, fles, mites plus all her shots she needed and she was badly scratched by her sibling when she was with her litter. We knew she was going to cost alot of money but this was way more than we were planning on. The doctors and staff were very caring and just as upset as we were about her care so they were able to put us on plan to pay 1000.00 worth of care. She got all the care and love she needed; she is now a health happy puppy. THANKS!!! Pros: appt are always available more

Excellent Caring Animal Hospital - Luxating Patella 12/21/2008

I let my 3 dogs out in the back yard to clean and when I let them in, my Maltese, Throttle, was dragging his hind end and could not use his rear legs. I scooped him up and checked if he had an injury or been bitten. I then went to my local vet to see what was wrong. I was told luxating patella was causing the paralysis in his rear legs. I called 3 hospitals to see what the procedure was and what costs were involved. A very important factor to me was being able to bring my pet home the same day so I could care for him during the post operation period. Oswego Animal Hospital was the most reasonably priced and allowed the animal to be home the same day. Dr Jacobsen was very informative regarding the potential fixes that could be done based on the level or grade of my dog?s issue. He demonstrated the luxating patella problem using a sample bone structure of a dog?s leg. Surgery was the next week. As soon as surgery was complete, I received a phone call from Dr Jacobsen to tell me how he had done. When I picked up my pet, Dr Jacobsen gave me a full recap of the surgery process and showed me pictures in a medical book of exactly what had been done. He provided anti-inflammatory medicine and antibiotics to prevent infection.\r Throttle came home with a bandage on his rear leg to protect the staples that held the incision together. After 10 days we returned to have the staples removed. The incision had healed very nicely. No infection, just a small skin irritation due to bandage removal that Dr Jacobsen advised I put Neosporin on and it went away in a few days. Dr Jacobsen advised me it would take 8-12 weeks for a full recovery and we were well on our way to being better than new! I highly recommend Dr Jacobsen and Oswego Animal Hospital. Everyone I have been in contact with at his office is very helpful and very caring of the animals and their owners. I drove all the way from Wheaton, IL to use this vet and I am glad I did.\r \r Pros: Caring, reasonable pricing, informative, great office hours, accomodating Cons: Far from my home more

Amazing Care, and Great Compassion!! 5/10/2008

I recently had to make the difficult decision to put my dog to sleep. My 9 year old rottweiler had cancer, and it was time. I was new to the area and I had heard many horrible things about Oswego Animal Hospital, especially the Dr. that owned the practice. When it was apparent that Titan was suffering, I called the local hospitals, no one would get me in. I was given different reasons like, were not taking new clients, or we dont have any appointments available today. I reluctantly called Oswego Animal Hospital, the young lady that answered said i could come in anytime. When i walked in I was met with a huge smile and quick service finding out they were under new ownership. They put me right into a room and the Dr. was in within minutes. Dr. Jacobsen reviewed my dogs history, and we discussed all possible options, but in the end we knew it was time. They offered me a place out back in the grass under a willow tree, to spend some time saying good-bye. When i was ready Dr. Jacobsen and an assistant came outside and with Titan in my arms he was put to sleep. The girls were crying with me....they barley knew me. They were all amazing. They showed great compassion, and imediate, loving care to me, and even called 2 days later to check up on how I was doing. Oswego Animal Hospital is AMAZING! I know exactly where i will go with my next dog to Oswego Animal Hospital, where you feel like family!! Pros: Great Prices, Immediate care, Very friendly staff. Human Hospitals should be more like this. more

Great New Diagnostic Capabilities 12/29/2007

Oswego Animal Hospital will be one of the first veterinary hospitals to offer digital imaging in the state. Even before many of the University Teaching Hospitals begin using this new diagnostic tool, there will be a local veterinarian with technology to see inside your pet like never before. This imaging equipment uses less radiation than conventional xrays making it simply safer. The ability to dial in specific soft tissues, internal organs, and bones make it more likely to find a problem sooner than ever. This clinic, previously know for budget veterinary medicine, has been able to significantly increase the level of care with cutting edge technology and keep the prices the same as they were. Pros: New Expanded Hours, New Vets, New Equipment, walk-ins welcome more

LATEST IN DENTAL SCALING AND POLISHING WHICH REDUCES THE ANESTHETIC TIME FOR A TEETH CLEANING.\r IF YOU LIKED IT BEFORE, YOU'LL LOVE IT NOW. IF YOU HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE, COME BACK AND GIVE OSWEGO ANIMAL HOSPITAL ANOTHER TRY. Pros: UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP more

Wonderful Experience 10/29/2007

Many people don't know that this Vet Clinic is under new management. I took my dog to this location to be spayed last month. The staff was wonderful. The surgery went great, the instructions for her care were very clearly stated. They even called a couple days later to check on how she was doing. My dog is 8 years old and I was worried about her having this surgery. They handled her with great love and care. And, one last thing... the prices are good also. more

BE AWARE - STAY AWAY 5/2/2006

I took my two cats to this clinic 2 years ago for a front declaw. A month ago both of my cats started limping and had open sores on the bootom of their paws. I took them to my NEW vet and was told that they needed RE-DECLAWED. I then took them to 2 other vets and got the same response. It turns out the orignal declaw was done improperly and their claws were partially growing back, not to mention both cats were obviously in serious pain. I contacted Oswego Animal Hospital and then took them in to see the vet. He was very unkind, called me a b**** and said never to come back to his office. He denyed any wrong doing. The 3 other vets I took them to told me the opposite. It's a slice and dice vet with people that have no compassion! STAY AWAY! more
