Worst

Osso Buso is an okay place to get a regular Italian meal. Their decor is bland and the service is fine. They have large family-style portions. The food is not that great and it's ...

I love this place! I order from them all the time. Their caesar salad is to die for and so is there bread. I usually order either lasagna or their penne a la vodka with some chicken breast. Simply delicious!!!! more

Excellent Find 5/20/2011

This place is a jewl. Absolutely loved the food! and the waiters were incredibly friendly. The prices are unbelievable for the quality of food and service. Their sidewalk cafe is a great touch. My friends and I love visiting in the warm days just adds to the already pleasant experience. more

Rude/slow service 1/5/2009

I just went here for the first time this past weekend with a group of friends. The service was horrible! If you ask for anything, it's like you're bothering the servers to actually do work! Hello! Isn't that your job? It wasn't even busy! And the time it took to actually get someone's attention, let alone for anyone to even walk by (there was no one to be found - only seated customers, but no staff around at times), took forever! When we got there, we were waiting for the rest of our party to come, but in the meantime wanted to order an appetizer & he had the audacity to comment ""Just one appetizer for 8 people?"" when we had said that we would order more once they arrived (but we were hungry and couldn't wait!). All in all, the service (if you can call it that) is horrible. The staff is rude and they take forever. I wasn't even full & could have eaten dessert, but it wouldn't be worth the time it would take to wait to see a dessert menu, find someone to take the order, wait for it to come, and then get the check. The food was OK and not too pricey, but I wouldn't recommend Osso Buco to anyone based on the bad service. Cons: rude staff & slow service more

Good Fettucine Alfredo. 2/17/2008

The food was good, the place is nice. Candle lit dinner at night. The fettucine was good, it was very creamy. The service not so great, not bad though just seemed like he rather not be at work. Pros: Cheap food, nice place. Cons: Service, certain waiters. more

Absolutley horrible delivery 3/19/2007

THIS PLACE WAS THE WORST FOOD I HAVE HAD IN NYC!!! I ordered delivery for saturday movie night (30 bucks for apetizer, salad, and pasta) and it was so terrible I coudn't even eat it. I ordered the stuffed mushrooms, which were vile, the cesar salad, the lettuce was soggy and limp, and the fettucini alfredo, which tasted like noodles and butter. I will never, never, never get delivery from here again. I wish I could have returned the food for my 30 bucks. more

Decent, Cheap Italian Food 9/25/2006

I went here for dinner and was pretty impressed with the food. The calamari was awesome, and the portions were large. The bill was 75 bucks for 3 entrees, 1 app and a bottle of wine. Not bad. more

Nothing Special 8/19/2006

This place is really nothing special and I would never go back. The food was really not very good and service was so-so. We sat upstairs where there were 2 other very large parties and you really couldn't hear the people next to you. Some dishes were very good- like the fried calamari, but others were so disappointing that the good one's were soon forgotten. Skip the baked clams and stuffed mushrooms. more

Love this place!!! 4/9/2006

This is the place for Italian on the Upper East side. Portions are generous enough for you to share with your friends or take home. Could be romantic or a great place to gather with friends. I love their bread and the fact that the bottled water is free, flat or sparkling. Unfortunately, their soda is always flat. I always leave their very full, but be prepared to be thirsty later on; food can be salty. Pros: Big portions, Affordable, Free bottled water Cons: Flat soda, Salty more

Fun and relaxing Saturday afternoon 5/22/2005

I went there with a large party for my brother's graduation from college and we had a great time! No complaints from anyone in my family, which was miraculous...they are usually very fussy. The food was tasty and the prices were good (almost everyone stuck to single portions). The service was very good as well. Pros: prices, decor, location more

Great Eats! 4/27/2005

I have been there twice already! Both times I have really enjoyed the food! They give a great amount, enough for lunch tomorrow. I went with a large party, the service was prompt and gracious. They even offered an after dinner drink, on the house! I recommend this restaurant to anyone who asks for a recommendation. I intend on returning there to celebrate my birthday! It is that good! Pros: Inexpensive, Good Service, No wait! more

Good food makes it worth the bad service 2/12/2005

Me and my parents have tried this place 3 times in the last 6 months. If wasn't for the good food, we would not have returned. Can't find ""less service"" on the UES.Waiters much more interested on what's on TV then on our needs as custumers. We will be back, because the food is really good and the prices are right, but if you don't want to have to wait FOR THE NEXT COMERCIAL BREAK TO GET SERVICE, TRY SOMEPLACE ELSE!! Pros: Food, ambience, full bar Cons: service, service, service more

A classic Upper East Side Italian Eatery

Owner Message
  • Osso Buco's menu includes nothing surprising or unusual, naturally, but much of the food is tasty and satisfying, with far more high points than lows. And it's a good value: the family-style portions, described as double size, are closer to triple. Even so, Osso Buco is much more of a casual neighbrood place. We have couples stopping in after work to share plates of pasta, veal and more. Whats more family style then for everyone to eat the same meal? The calimari, tricolore salad, and ceaser salad are 3 reasonable priced delicious dishes. The baked clams are also to-die-for. This modern, clean unclutterd surface like restaurant is your must go- to for family-style Italin fare.
