This is the BEST Spa Ever!!! 11/7/2010

I love this spa, the atmosphere is amazing and very Zen. In fact, there is even a Zen garden in the back yard! The cedar bath is the most soothing, nurturing and revitalizing thing I can think of to do with an afternoon. You will really feel like a brand new person when you are done. And, if you are a massage person, this is the place for you. My therapist was amazing, and my boyfriend was raving about his experience as well. We were transformed from crabby, stress-cases to relaxed and grounded human beings! Thank you Osmosis, we will be back- and we'll bring friends. more

Don't go, not worth it. 8/2/2005

It definitely isn't worth the money and time driving to this place. I went to this spa two weeks ago for a deep tissued massage. The therapist didn't do the work as requested, totally ignored my request about my stiff neck and shoulders. Not to mention, they don't provide deep tissued massage but say they do on the phone. Also, for 1-hr service, she finished in 45 mins. I can get better service and money worth any other places in SF or LA. It doesn't worth it. I have much better massages before. After the 1-hr session, I didn't feel any relief other than feeling cheated. Environment isn't that great either, it's just some want-to-be meditation garden. I dont' recommend this place to anyone. Pros: Quiet, Clean Cons: overcharged, Misleading more

Unbelievable Experience! 11/29/2004

I surprised my husband with a new and unusual birthday treat, a jaunt to Osmosis! We've never tried an enzyme bath before and it was absolutley worth the drive and $$$! After leaving the spa, both my husband and I were on cloud nine... he said it was the BEST spa treatment (and birthday gift) he ever experienced! We highly recommend Lani Collins for massages! Don't forget to walk the zen garden - breathtaking! Pros: excellent service, indoor decor more

Worth The Travel from the City 10/7/2003

I visited Osmosis for my first time last weekend, on a warm and sunny day. Since I do not frequent spas often nor the Russian River area- I was excited about experiencing Osmosis. It was worth every penny spent (which was on a 75 minute massage). Hands down, my favorite part of the experience was the Meditation Gardens in the back of the spa. A huge garden, large coy-fish pond, beautiful bonsai trees, and a well landscaped design was truely impressive. FYI- after Osmosis we went to Bodega Bay and had dinner. A perfectly romantic reason to leave SF. Stusser created a masterpiece. Pros: Zen Gardens, Spacious Spa, Clean more

my favorite spa 9/10/2003

i made my first trip to osmosis about 6 monthes ago and i have been back a few times since then...every experience has been totally worth the money. words do not do this spa justice! it's the only place i have consistently been able to find total peace and relaxation and felt completely pampered, and the staff has even remembered my name when i have returned! the facials are amazing, especially with the jurlique line that i have now started using--- their treatments were so refreshing i couldn't resist. supreme service, fabulous massages, delightful meditation garden, ooohhh...and those facials!! yes!!! Pros: excellent service, quiet area, changing rooms Cons: expensive!! more

Unique spa experience! 7/14/2003

Osmosis is a very special experience! Nestled in a rural valley near Bodega Bay, this spa offers a unique blend of relaxation & detoxification. The "bath" of enzyme-rich, earthy materials detoxifies & soothes and, if followed by a massage one leaves there feeling deeply calm and spritually touched. Pros: unique experience, deeply relaxing, very soothing Cons: expensive, remote location more

Editorial
  • The Scene
Weekdays, locals and couples from surrounding areas flock to this spa. Weekends, out-of-towners attracted by the media buzz move in. The reception room is reminiscent of an earthy Sharper Image where music, teas and imported robes are sold. The building has a back-of-the-house feeling, and opens to a five-acre wonderland with tall bamboo and a meditation garden.

    The Services
This is the only place in the U.S. offering enzyme baths. The popular treatment begins with digestive tea served in a private room, which opens into a Japanese garden. After drinking the tea, guests take their "bath" in a mixture of fragrant cedar fibers, rice bran and plant enzymes. During the process, natural fermentation of the materials begins and the intense heat boosts metabolism. Following the 20-minute treatment, splurge on a second-to-none massage.

    The Details
    Massage, facials.
