I recommend Mike Dixey at OrthoRehab Specialists in Eden Prairie as the first place to go if you need to rehab an injury. I am a collegiate rugby player who has dealt with multiple back and ankle injuries and Mike and Amber (rehab assistant) have been excellent in helping me return to top playing form. I went to multiple doctors and a chiropractor for over two years to attempt to fix my back injury, but after only a couple visits with Mike and working with his rehab exercises and techniques, I was able to fix the pain and return to rugby and powerlifting. Mike is extremely knowledgeable, is able to explain your injury to you in common terms (since we aren't all doctors), and is always willing to answer questions I have about my injury or sports and lifting in general. Bottom line is, Mike and Amber love what they do and they enjoy watching clients get healthy. Mike is a continuous learner and always provides me with the most up-to-date information and therapy methods. Mike is professional, extremely knowledgeable, compassionate and well respected in his profession. He takes the time to sit down with you one-on-one to answer your questions, explain what’s going on, what needs to happen (surgery and/or therapy), what to expect and how long it will take. I have been a patient of Mike’s for over 15 years while he and his staff have successfully rehabbed me back from multiple knee, hip and back surgeries, as well as a joint replacement. I have been seeing Mike and Amber in the EP clinic for years. I am very active and enjoy running, working out, etc. As I have gotten older I have gotten injured several times. (I feel like an old car some days. :)) Mike and Amber have kept me exercising by providing great diagnostics and exercises. They are a great example of continuous self-improvement. I am a college athlete playing basketball at St. Michael's college. I have been going to see Mike Dixey for the past 6 years for injuries including: ankles, knee surgery, hips, neck, and shoulders. He has brought me back from each injury, and has got me stronger than what I was when I first saw him. It is such a pleasure to see someone that tells you in ""real people"" terms, what your problem is, and shows you the reasons for your problem and how the rehabilitation exercises are going to help you. I don't think I would go to anyone else for a hurt body part. I have seen Mike Dixey and Amber for various issues over the past 10 years. For me it has been wrist, back, neck, knee, rotator cuff, etc. Mike always comes up with a fix that has enabled me to avoid pain and surgury. It is significant that when I reinjure myself I can go back to what he taught me years earlier and care for myself in most cases. He is patient, quick, explains well, considerate, firm, and patient. I like it that he is always helping others get started in the business too. I would recommend Mike as a first stop for any physical therapy needs. Far better than chiropractic if you are willing to do the exercises he instructs. Amber is very good also at helping with the follow through via training and encouragement. more

I worked with Mike Dixey at the OrthoRehab Specialists location in Eden Prairie after having my second knee surgery. He was absolutely wonderful! He is extremely knowledgeable and very thorough. Mike always had encouragement for me whenever I was there. The rest of the staff there is awesome as well. They were all so friendly and approachable. I actually looked forward to going to physical therapy. They made what could have been one of the most difficult times in my life one of the most rewarding. After a car accident and WAY to many trips to chiropractor with no results, I was referred to Mike Dixie at Ortho Rehab Specialist in Eden Prairie. After one visit I could tell a definite difference. Mike told me how many visits I could expect before the problem was corrected - something my chiropractor couldn't do - and he was right on the mark. I have returned to Ortho Rehab for other unrelated issues and I continue to have great results. Mike does a great job of explaining what the problem is and knows what will help. Our son suffered a very traumatic leg injury. Mike Dixey came highly recommended. Mike's ability to ascertain what is wrong, what needs to be done and what can be expected for the future is a gift. Mike Dixey and his staff at OrthoRehab Specialists, Eden Prairie office, are running a first class operation. I have had 3 different surgeries and been to many PT's in the twin cities. Mike & his staff are the most knowledgeable, helpful and caring therapists I have worked with. They have gone out of their way to get me in their schedule and the rehabilitation plan was personalized to fit my needs and get me back to full strength. I have and will continue to recommend this place to my friends! I have been going to various rehab places to improve my horrible knees for the past 2 years. Finally I listed to a friend who said when the pain gets so bad you will be willing to drive across town and try OrthoRehab Specialists. I am so glad I finally went there. I go to the Eden Prairie office. I have never had to wait when I arrive and the staff has been so professional and they have excellent listening skills. At my three appointments I have gotten so much better. They give you specific exercises and break them down so by the time you leave their office you know what you should be doing at home. The pain and bone cracking in my knees is so much better! more

This is one of the best health care practices in the Twin Cities. I have had 5 knee surgeries, and I have returned to OrthoRehab Specialists every time. Not only are the therapists professional, they are knowledgeable, trustworthy, and personal. Mike Dixey can treat any injury or problem. Although I have only had knee injuries, my family has gone to OrthoRehab Specialists for other problems such as alignment, foot, back, and neck. Look no further if you've got back issues. I have suffered from what most people call ""non-specific low back pain"" for much of my adult life. I had been to numerous docs, specialists and even an orthopedic surgeon to try and determine what the problem was. None of them could tell me anything as to what was causing it, and none of them could help. Then I met Mike Dixey of OrthoRehab. Being a personal trainer myself, having a working back is important. After a couple weeks of working with Mike, my back pain was 99% better,and I was doing things I had not been able to do in years. He was able to actually identify the problem and give me corrective exercises that worked IMMEDIATELY. In my time working with Mike at OrthRehab, he has always been accessible to me, answered my questions via email and has been nothing but helpful. I was very disappointed in my visit to Ortho Rehab. I had to wait for over 20 mins to see the dr. When I finally did see her I don't feel like she even listened to my description of the problem. All she heard was that I am a runner and gave me a couple of canned exercises that she gives to all her patients. 1/3 of which were for the calf and I had never mentioned anything about my calf. I have a hip issue and have since seen 2 other Drs who agreed that those exercises would not help my problem. I called and talked to the manager here who was not helpful at all when I explained the situation and that I felt I should not have to pay another $30 more than the $200+ my insurance paid. Needless to say I never went back. .. \r more
