Best Mexican Food in Nevada 12/17/2008

Its amazing how needy certain customers can be,when i go to a restaurant i know before hand if i like the type of food they serve, and if i dont, i go with an open mind. Now Lindo's food is the best Mexican food in town and they have the best service as well, trust me, i have been in a lot of expensive overrated places in las Vegas and Lindo's and Flemmings are the top ones.So take your family, girlfriend, date, kids, whoever you want because you are gonna have the best food. If you like steak try the Tampiquena Steak, is my favorite dish there.Thank you for reading this, JP. Pros: The best Mexican food. more

Decent Mexican 10/14/2008

The hype this place gets is almost legendary so it would be pretty hard to live up to that hype. That said, Lindo Michoacan nearly does live up to the hype! The menu features a large number of items not often found on most Mexican restaurant menus. Meat is done especially well here as are soups and stews. Margaritas were surprisingly small but potent enough. Chips and salsa were only average. The carne asada is the best you will find anywhere and it starts with the fact they use New York Steak, not sirloin or skirt steak which is what you will fiind at most Mexican restaurants. Prices are high but you do get what you pay for. Pros: Carne Asada; Soups and Stews Cons: Chips and Salsa more

Seriously? 9/28/2008

My thought that the general public enjoys bad food is clearly correct after having visited this dated, tacky joint. The Sunday brunch selection looks like re-heated leftovers from a fiesta a few nights back...but spruced up with a fresh addition of stale hot-pink Mexican bread.\r \r The service is painfully bad with the General Managers picking up the slack for entitled waiter who doesn't care at all that the food he just served you is the worst Mexican food next to Taco Bell. He never re-visited our table and he let the bus-girls take care of us. No thank you's or any sort of basic waiter etiquette. If you are a bad server, apply at Lido, they will hire you. \r \r I ordered the #4 combo: a bean tostada, beef taco, and cheese enchilada. The guacamole that is blobbed on the tostada is pre-made and the grate of the cheddar cheese is too thick and it tastes low quality. The beef taco is questionable on every level: freshness, moistness, flavor. It lacked all three. Plus it was deep fried and the menu boasts how it is ""healthy"" because the owner has health problems. The cheese enchilada was limp and the sauce tastes like the junk my white mother buys when she wants to make ""ethnic"" food. The beans are the only palatable item on the plate. \r \r It's 12:45, I just went there for a Sunday brunch date with my husband, and I'm still hungry. I'm also annoyed at the Vegas valley for voting this place the Best Mexican Food. Wake up, people. Lido is exceptionally bad. Pros: Now I know never to go back Cons: Price, service, decor, food... more

food not suitable for humans 8/13/2008

my husband and i went over there a few weeks ago.the waiter super snooty. my husband ordered the enchiladas and i ordered fish tacos. the enchiladas were passable, but the fish tacos were not suitable for human consumption. i took a bite and immediately felt repulsed by it. i opened it and look at it and look like something you would not feed to even a dog. i called the waiter and politely told him i didnt like it. he shrugged his shoulders and just took away the plate. nothing else. we left that joint right away. a tourist trap Pros: ambience ok Cons: food very bad. waiter very rude and not helpful more

Very Good Food!!!!! Not So Great Service : ( ..... 4/21/2008

First have been in this town15 years and by far, this the best mexican restaurant in Las Vegas. The chips and salsa are the best appetizers of course acommpanied by the side beans they give you before the main course. The only down side about this wonderfull restauraunt and great food , is theservice . The waiters are rude and inpatient. Everyone in my table ordered except for me off course because i really take into consideration what choose to eat. The waiter made me feel really uncornftable after telling him to give me some time to order my food off course he didnt he stood right behind me until i ordered. So not fair. One thing for sure you its not fair to rate them like this because their food is amazing but their service is not up to standards. Unfortunately. And when you have reallly bad service you expect really bad food but amazingly is not . I would Definetely reccomend this restauraunt. Waiters get your game on : ) Pros: If you really want great mexican food , this is it!!! Cons: Service is not so good more

Eat here if you have no no idea what Mexican food is 4/9/2008

My boyfriend and I were quite unhappy with the ""authentic"" mexican food were ate at the West Tropicana location. Food was bland, bland, bland. The complimentary pile of perhaps canned bean dip, side of ""burn your face off"" salsa and unseasoned tortilla chips were free for a reason. As was the odd soup that tasted like a can of Campbell's noodle soup with tomatoes. My boy's order of Al Pastor tacos were very under seasoned and went unfinished. My chicken fajitas were only decent after unloading the salt shaker on it. This restaurant also promotes healthy eating and claims that olive oil is used instead of lard-- anyone on a diet knows better than to eat mexican food! Give us the lard! Don't recommend this location- the ""Chef"" does not know what authentic mexican food is. Pros: Prompt seating Cons: Bland food more

Wonderful! 4/1/2008

This place was recommened by the conceirge at Luxor and it was great! The salsa was really good and the queso was out of sight! By the time we got our food we were stuffed but it we still enjoyed everything! Wish we had this place back in Nashville, TN! Pros: Great food Cons: $20 cab far from Luxor more

Best Everything! 2/20/2008

This has been my favorite restaurant for years. I love the food. The service is always great. And you can't beat the price. It is family owned and it is apparant that they take pride in their business. Would reccomend Lindo Michoacan to anyone. Pros: Great Ambience Cons: Gets a little crowded more

Horrible food. Enough said. 2/6/2008

Ok, I spent considerable time writing my review, and Citysearch scratched it, so we'll make this one quick. The food ranges from mediocre to horrible. It is somewhat overpriced. Do not order the carnitas fajitas unless you like the taste of unseasoned cooked pork. Salsa is not good. And no, don't even think about the pico de gallo as an alternative, I tried that, too -- it's a joke. Chips are bad but edible if you are hungry -- even more so if you slather refried beans (which they serve on the side) on them. I'd think twice about ordering a seafood dish, as our salmon tasted fishy. Service is good, though, and so are their flour tortillas, which seemed fresh. Overall, we were disappointed, as this was our first trip to Vegas, I love Mexican food dearly, and we did online research to determine where to eat the entire week. If we knew how bad the food was, we would've tried Isla at Treasure Island, since they had good reviews also. If you're visiting Vegas, don't bother to go to Lindo. If you live in Vegas and can cook, I'd bet you can make better Mexican food at home. I know I can. And for the boozers of the world, I don't know how the drinks are, and I don't care. It's not enough of a reason to go to a restaurant. And for $10 a pop for a margarita, I ought to be at the club......but then again, some guy would buy it for me, anyway. Pros: Good service, good flour tortillas Cons: Bad overpriced food, drinks are costly more

Great food, great service! 1/23/2008

On our recent trip to Las Vegas, we stayed on the strip but wanted to eat elsewhere one night. We found this place, and I'm so glad we did. This was our best meal the whole weekend! We had a large party, and we called ahead and had a very short wait for our table. Just time enough to grab a margarita (yum!) from the bar. The chips and salsa served first were good, but the bean dip served with them was awesome...we had several refills. I can't remember everyone's dishes, but there were no complaints from anyone at the table. The home made tortillas were fabulous...the best I've ever had. The service was very good, we never had to wait for anything. We were celebrating a birthday, and they took good care of the birthday boy! I would recommend this to anyone, and I'd definitely eat here again! more

Quick lunch 12/6/2007

I came to Lindo Michoacan with some collegues for lunch. We mentioned to our waitress (very nice and helpful) that we were pressed for time. She made sure that we not only enjoyed our lunch, but we were in and out within 35 minutes. The food was very flavorful and tasted like authentic Mexican food. Something that I am always looking for here in the valley. I will make sure to bring my family in next time. more

Mediocre at Best 9/27/2007

In all fairness, I just moved here from San Diego where there are probably more Mexican restaurants/taco shops per capita then any other city in America. So I am REALLY biased. \r However...I'd rather go to Del Taco than go to this place again. The beef and chicken were dry, overcooked, and flavorless. The beans have that stupid liquid smoke in a sad attempt to have that generic/trendy ""chipotle"" flavor. The rice was simply overcooked, the salsa was basically ketchup with red chili flakes, and to top it all off the entire menu was WAY over-priced. It's not as if you're eating in some tourist trap restaurant where you can get away with charging $20 for two street tacos some beans and rice. \r I only choked down half the food in an effort to not offend the person who recommended it. \r Admittedly, I'm being pretty harsh, but in reality I have no reason to dissuade you from going here. It's not my money being wasted (I already did that). You may go here and think it's the greatest thing since you reached puberty?and if that's the case, please go and enjoy! \r However, if you are going to ignore my opinion on the food than please remember this; any idiot who says a Mexican restaurant is good because it ""has the greatest margaritas..."" that person is a complete moron and their opinion should be dismissed immediately. \r Three reasons this person is an idiot for saying that: \r 1. Anything is good when you're drunk. \r 2. A margarita is not rocket science. \r 3. A good alcoholic beverage does not make the food good! \r Please remember this in your never ending search for GOOD Mexican food in Las Vegas....I'm starting to believe it does not exist...but I've been wrong before. GOD I hope I'm wrong! Pros: The wait staff is attentative. Cons: Read the review! more

Cold Food 2/19/2007

From what we heard this place was supposed to be great. we were really disappointed. We had cold food on a hot plate. It probably is one of the best in Las Vegas, but in New Mexico it would be below average. We are going to write it off our llst of places to go for good food. The people that work there are very nice. The service is great. Pros: We got our food very fast Cons: The food didn't have enough time to get hot. more

Best Mexican Chicken 2/9/2007

Here it is, the best mexican restaurant around. From the start with complimentary beans and chips to the finish with fried ice cream (flameado) this authentic mexican restaurant surpasses any expectations you come with. My favorite dish has to be the ""Pollo Sarandeado"" also called Chicken Tia Esther. Out of all the mexican restaurants I've been to in California, Las Vegas and Texas this is the best dish I have ever had. If chicken isn't your ""thing"" the dish also comes in shrimp, which is also an excellent dish and my Dad's favorite. Sometimes I switch it up and order the shrimp and make my own shrimp tacos with the tortillas that come with the meal which are, of course, made in the restaurant by somebody's abuelita (grandma). It is made with an original sauce I have yet to see duplicated elsewhere. There are two appetizers that I enjoy eating before my Tia Esther, the ""Papa Chencho"" which is a sampler plate of jalapeno poppers, quesadillas, and flautas and ceviche. If you like carnitas the ""Coca-Cola carnitas"" are an amazing taste. So seriously, CHECK IT OUT! And P.S the hostesses are very attractive. more

Guacamole extraordinaire!!! 11/9/2006

This is one of my favorite places to go when in Vegas. The guacamole cannot be beat, the margaritas are excellent and the food is incredible. Try the PESCADO ENVUELTO - orange roughy with spinach or the STEAK MEXICANO - the steak is smothered in THE BEST green chile sauce. more

Good Food and Margaritas 11/1/2006

Love the fresh made at the table Guacamole, and the fresh made tortillas. Want a sure thing when it comes to Mexican this is it. On the west side? Go to Bonita Michoacan, their sister location. Both are great. more

Great Food AND Customer Service 7/13/2006

I had my family in town for my college graduation & had my celebration dinner here. It was great! Everyone loved it & they know Mexican food! Everyone's glass was always full & we never found ourselves looking for a staff member. Highly recommended! Pros: Authentic! Cons: Can get noisy when its busy more

Authentic Mexican Food :) 11/13/2005

The best Mexican food in town, staff is friendly, the make you feel like family. more

They go the extra mile! 7/28/2005

My friends and i had an amazing first time at this restaurant - they had great food, great service and when the cab didn't show up, the wonderful owner Javier offered to drive us back to the strip in his hummer! After operating this restaurant for 15 years, i can see how he has kept his customers happy - great food, service and going the extra mile just because he's a nice guy. I'm recommending this place to all my friends for their trip to Sin City Pros: service, food, margaritas more

Just like home 7/27/2005

We were in Vegas for vacation and had a craving for some good ole mexican food just like back at home in san antonio. Sure enough we found this restaurant with the help of some people we met at our hotel. It was out of the way, but well worth the cab fare!!! I recommend this restaurant to anyone in the mood for some good authentic mexican food. more
