Artistry and Old World Care at its Best!!! 11/9/2011

Slava, who runs this place, is not only super nice, he treats his profession not only as an optician but as an ARTIST. He LOVES his work, he loves helping and he got me incredibly handsome eyewear at a great price - and made sure I had the best of non glare glass etc. I can't say enough good about Optical Universe. Optical Universe 8/9/2011

I had heard about Optical Universe through a friend of the family and I was in dire need of finding new glasses for a reasonable price. First of all, they have a huge selection to choose from and to make it easier, Slava, the owner was a huge help when it came to picking out the perfect pair. It was very comforting to walk into the store and deal with such friendly people. I highly recommend this place to others. more

I love this store!!!! Friendly service, knowledgeable staff, and great products. I got three sets of glasses from Optical Universe and I love my glasses. They have a great selection of unique glasses. Can't tell you how many compliments I have gotten on my Oliver Peoples sunglasses, and my GF Ferrer and Versace glasses. Slava knows his stuff and makes sure that the glasses suit you. It's wonderful when an owner makes sure to sell you a product that is good for you, not just try to sell you the product that will make him money. I would recommend this store to everyone!! I love shopping and I love good service. When it comes to glasses I can guarantee - you can not find anything better then Optical Universe. It is not only the best selection on the market - It is service!!! Slava will never sell you something that does not good look good! His personal care and patience - priceless!!! I consider Optical Universe my favorite store for all my eyeglasses, whether functional or for fashion. The selection and ambiance is really nice when one is looking for a pair of glasses that not only help you see but make you look good. I have known Slava, the owner, to be an honest, creative, and hard working professional and would trust him completely. more

Choices Galore for Eyewear 12/4/2010

A terrific place to do business. Great selection, wonderful service. Really listened to what my son wanted in glasses and gave him great options. Highly recommended!!! Great selection, fast turnaround, and best of all... excellent, personal service. The owner, Slava, is knowledgeable, honest, has a great eye for what looks good, and is always fun and easy to work with. He special ordered some frames for me, and had no problem with it when I decided they weren't right for me. He made some suggestions, helped me choose another pair, and had them ready with my prescription in just a couple days. If you've never been there, go... at the very least, you'll enjoy meeting Slava! more

Class Act 11/1/2010

It is amazing how hard it is to find a family owned optical store anymore. Between WalMart and Sears and JCPenney and their optical departments, no one is in the business anymore, especially in the San Fernando Valley. That is why I was very impressed with Slava and his store. That personal, I really care about the customer feel is still alive and well. He was a real gentleman, helped me on a Saturday afternoon, and I can't help but think maybe that is the one thing that that small business owner will always make him succeed over the big store guys. You have to visit! more

Experience, Quality, Satisfaction\r I was recommended by a friend to go to Optical Universe for my new eyeglasses, so I decided to check them out. I have never had a better experience!!!\r There are a lot of frames to choose from. I ended up with Oliver Peoples frame and also a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses. They had my lenses in stock, so it only took an hour for me to get them! Even though I didn?t have insurance, the total of my glasses was VERY affordable, and they have one of the biggest selections I have ever seen. Especially in designer wear which is what I was looking for. \r Salesperson Steve that helped me out was SO patient with me & my 2 year old daughter. Steve was helpful in choosing a style and seemed to know what styles would work well with my particular prescription. Steve offered his opinion without being to pushy. He was friendly and professional. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone I know. I am completely satisfied with my eyeglasses. Very trendy - I go more

OMG! I just got a pair of Dolce & Gabbana frames with my prescription lenses and I'm so excited. After going to 5 other places Walmart, Cosco, Eye Care, Sears, Lenscrafter, I finally found a place with the largest designer frames & Shades to choose from that exctually compliments me, Not to mention the BEST price out of all of them with the frame, Lense and all, and with more to offer without breaking the bank and causing me to lose sleep... lol The Best! \r \r I would recommend everyone who is on a budget and don't want to over pay for designer quality items, to get your Frames or Shades at Optical Universe in Tarzana. READ MY Review! Love this place! 8/24/2010

We found Optical Universe back in june and were out on 1.5 month European tour enjoying what Slava (the owner) picked out for me and my girlfriend to wear. He said "You'll see you'll get tons of compliments" And We got compliments everywhere from Paris, Rome, London and St. Petersburg.\r This guy has an amazing eye and talent in knowing exactly what to fit your face with. I am very picky with my Eyeglasses and Sunglasses and by the time we were leaving (two pairs each) we were like home and completely satisfied with the whole experience.\r By the way i have never seen such a tasty and diverse collection of eyewear and sunglasses. Everything from affordable to really awesome stuff. And they carry only the LATEST, none of that "LAST YEAR MODEL" Of course we dropped over $1700, but then I have very good $ taste. \r You owe it to yourself to check this place out. more

I've been shopping at Optical Universe for nearly a decade. My wife and both of my daughters need prescription glasses, and sunglasses for me - so we visit the store quite often. Amazing and very easy going service - no pressure. Excellent glasses and frames selections with very reasonable prices. Slava (the owner) is great guy to talk to and do business with.
