Buyer Beware 5/26/2009

I had this company replace a unit for my downstairs because of a cracked heat exchanger. The next summer I had problems with my upstairs unit and they came out and charged me for 6 lbs of freon at over $600. A week or two later the unit was not cooling again and they came out and told me all the freon had leaked out and I need to buy a new unit which they gladly gave me quotation for. I talked with a frient at work who referred me to another company in Franklin. I had them come out and look at my unit. He checked the freon and topped it off with one lb. He cleaned the unit which One Hour did not do and the unit worked fine.\r \r One Hour Heating and Cooling will try to sell you things that you do not need. IF you try this company I would strongly recommend that you get a second opinion. Pros: Friendly to talk with. Cons: Dishonest and pushy more

ONE HOUR... of convincing you to allow them to rip you off!!!! 11/6/2008

I can very much relate to the other review. The technician talked and told stories trying to build a buddy system with me so that I would trust him dipping into my wallet. The entire experience was horrible. Must be the most pushiest company I have ever dealt with. I must have told him that I would need to think about my decision about 17 times. I felt like I was talking to a child that keeps asking....""how bout now?"" .... ""NOW?"" .... ""how about........................ NOW?"" I paid for the trip charge ($28) and asked him to leave my property. He then tells me that he can tell I'm a nice guy (must have been the angry look on my face) so he's gonna lower the price by $1,700. Apparently he could tell that I wasn't stupid, nice had nothing to do with it. \r The most valuable part of this review is that he was at my house for nothing more than a service call which the last company quoted me at $300, and would not leave, repeatedly asked for my social or credit card #.\r Moral of the story... hope you have AT LEAST ONE HOUR available to be legally robbed. Complete pushy crooks. To top it off, I have a buddy that fell for their pushy sales pitch, it has been over 7 months installed and ONE HOUR still cant get THEIR OWN new system running correctly. Must be too so busy training the tech's how to swindle people out of their money that they forgot the mechanical training..... ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. I also recommend Lee Company. - wasn't perfect but much much much better and CHEAPER than ONE HOUR THIEVES!! Pros: They are dressed nicely Cons: Everything! DO NOT FALL FOR THE SALES PITCH OF YOUR SYSTEM IS NOT SAFE more

More sales than service 8/22/2008

I had a service call because the heat quit working on my downstairs unit.\r \r The ""serviceman"" arrived, Very friendly and Overly talkative. He checked out the unit and informed me with a sad shake of his head that the heat exchanger was bad. He told me it would cost $1380 to replace it, but that the overall unit was in such bad shape that I would be wasting my money to fix it... I should have them install a new unit for me.\r \r My unit is only four years old, and the part itself is still under warranty, so the $1380 is labor only!\r \r He then goes into this diatribe about all the time it takes for the office to order the part, pick up the part, return the old part, driving time, paper work, etc. ?It?s really about ten hours? and that is all part their charge? $1380!\r \r Back in the house now, he really turns on the sales pitch for me to make an appointment for one their ?comfort specialists? or whatever they call their first string salesmen, to come out and decide what kind of unit I?d like them to install.\r \r I thought he?d never leave. I just stood there not responding to anything he said. He?d ask me something, and I?d just stare at him. Finally I asked if he had some paperwork he needed me to sign, and sent him on his way.\r \r So now I call about five other places and ask what they charge to replace an in warranty heat exchanger on my unit. They range from $375 to $600.\r \r I go with the cheapest, which happens to be the company that I always used at one of my past homes, and always had great service from: Lee Company.\r \r Their service tech came out, and replaced the part. It took about an hour and a half. I told him the experience I?d had with One Hour Heat and Air, and he just shook his head and chuckled. He handed me the invoice, and it was less than they quoted on the phone. I can?t remember exactly, but it was $350 or less.\r \r I will use Lee Company from now on. Always.\r \r It saddens me to think of the people that fall for these tactics? especially older folks. Pros: Nice advertising campaign Cons: Dishonest more
