Damn right they fix cars! 10/10/2011

Took my 89 Jeep Cherokee in to On The Go due to a shot fuel pump - they received it in the late afternoon and had it ready by the next morning. Super good work, and the mechanic complemented me on my choice of automobile, saying that if I ever wanted to sell it, let him know. I'm sure he says that to all the guys, but I'll be paying him a visit soon as I'm getting a new ride. These dudes are awesome. more

The BEST Auto Repair Shop 7/6/2011

After many years of owning Honda & Acura's in Portland you find yourself at odds all the time when it comes to SERVICING your motorcar. That is until I found On The Go Auto Services. Having an issue that evidentally the dealer could not fix, I gave them a ring and within a 5 minute conversation with Robert, I was very comfortable bringing my Acura there. They were able to diagnos, quote and repair my Acura in a timely and cost effective manner. Far and few between do you come across such professionalism in the automotive repair business. I recomend them to any person with any type of car if you want to have worry free service. more

Never again! 11/28/2010

On the Go came high recommended to me by a friend who had taken his car there several times. So when my blinker stopped working intermittently, I called and talked with one of the mechanics. We talked about what the problem could be and they got me in the very next day. When I got my car back home, the blinker stopped working again a day later. I called and talked again with the mechanic, asking if they could figure out what was wrong this time. I made another appointment and took my car in again. I asked if I could get a price break or reduction because their work had not fixed the problem with my car. Because they had replaced a part, they were not willing to give me a refund or discount. I tried to be more assertive but they would not budge. I was out $270 for work that didn't fix my car. Thankfully, on the second trip, the car was fixed. more

Highly recommend! 6/19/2010

We had spent a lot of money on our van trying to figure out and fix what was wrong with it. We had nearly given up when I took it to On the Go Auto. Dave went above and beyond to find and fix a very obscure problem. He very patiently explained everything to me and put up with all my questions. We are very happy with the results and are amazed to find a mechanic who is both talented and honest. Trust your gut and give On the Go Auto a chance. Pros: honest, good at diagnostics more

An Honest and Outstanding Shop 3/11/2010

I have taken my 4Runner in to Dave @ On The Go Auto Service many times for different vehicle repairs. These repairs have ranged from the usual auto maintenance, sticky Emergency Brake, Broken 4 Wheel Drive, to my car having been broken into and needing a window and battery cable replaced and the locks re keyed. Each time that I have left my truck there for service, I am amazed at how quickly that the repair is completed and my truck is ready to be picked up! Dave & Robert have always called me with updates on the problem and the status of the repair. Dave has always given me different options for repairs instead of taking the most expensive route. Where's their super hero cape?!! 11/21/2008

I took my Ranger in to repair a botched wiring job from another mechanic and also to figure out another issue. Dave at On The Go Auto was extremely polite, explained everything clearly and was very professional. Not only did they fix everything in speedy time, but they did a fantastic job that was much less of a bill than I had expected. Imagine that, an honest mechanic! True. I'll absolutely go back in the future. They're pros, they know what they're doing and go out of their way to do a good job! Yay! more

This place is outstanding!! 10/25/2008

Once again I take my Ranger into Dave & Robert to fix a variety of different problems. Within hours they call me with the estimate, which is hundreds of dollars lower than expected, for which they can complete the job within a day. When I show up to pick up my truck, everything is completed to a level far exceeding expectations. The bill? Some items they don't even charge for. On other items, the pricing is literally 1/4 what a dealership would charge. These guys are focused on meeting and exceeding customer needs, all the while offering extremely low pricing, leaving customers to NEVER worry about getting screwed. These guys are outstanding!! Pros: Fair pricing, timely work, high quality. Cons: Zero, zip, nada. more

I went to this shop because of all the great recommendations I found on here even after my tow truck driver tried to talk me out of going "all the way to St. Johns." Not like its that far from where I live, but anyway... Pros: friendly, skilled, cheap, fast, etc... Cons: nada more

My parents went out of town then the car broke down. I had found 'on the go' in the insider pages and saw it had good reviews. I was able to drop the car off the next morning and they offered me a ride home, the service there was excellent and i picked the car up the same day. The inspection was free and the repair was cheap! I'm a very satisfied customer service and definitely will return for my next repair. more

The folks at On the Go are honest, friendly, reasonably priced and (big plus) they have Saturday hours! Simply put they are one of the best repair shops I've ever used in Portland. Pros: Fair and honest, Saturday hours Cons: none (really!), ok how about a dumpy waiting room? more

Exceptional Auto Repair Services 4/19/2007

What more could you ask for in a mechanic? These guys are honest, fair, personable, courteous and timely. Whenever I've taken my car in to have it worked on, it has been done when they say it will be done. Both Robert and Dave have always treated me very nicely; answering my questions until I completely understand the nature of the problem. They treat everyone with respect and NEVER once have I felt like a "dumb female" when I've been there. Needless to say, I cannot give them high enough recommendations for all they have done! Pros: Courteous, Excellent Service, Always done on time, Accurate price quotes Cons: Out of the three times that I've been there, I cannot think of ANY cons! more

Every one of the guys at On The Go was friendly and honest, I never have to worry that they are trying to rip me off. Very personable and they know what they are doing. They have fair prices and be completly up front with me, I have taken several of my cars and recommended them to many friends and family with complete faith! Fast, convenient, fairly priced. 3/1/2007

Convenient location, prompt service, and fairly priced. I initially brought my truck in believing I may need a new clutch. Turns out it needed some adjustments. Within an hour my truck was back to running, and it only cost $35. Next time I brought it in I had quite a few things that I needed done. Their pricing was better than I've seen, and they turned the job around in the same day. Overall, considering they aren't a dealership, but rather a locally owned sole proprietor, they provide good value (fast service, good quality, and low prices). Pros: Quick turnaround, fair pricing, and convenient location. Cons: Mechanic grease on the steering wheel. more
