fresh food lush vegetation 9/18/2009

One of the best spaces to gather and eat outdoors in Providence. The garden is fantastic with perennials and herbs framing the seating areas. The food is fresh and tasty. Pros: fresh food Cons: closes early more

Surprised...Not so Good 9/2/2009

I was quite surprised at the poor service and by far the worst caesar salad I've ever had at Olga's today. Service? I was asked if it was ""to go"" replied, ""no"" and was given the real silverware and a napkin. I was ""delivered"" a brown bag with my salad inside a plastic container and loose piece of bread. Not a problem, when I opened the dressing you would have thought it was made of only anchovies' and oil. Disgusting. The ""cheese"" for a $10.00 salad, and way too much in the form of clumps of powered parm. and romano. I thought I'd at least get some nice grated cheese. Disappointed. Pros: Bakery looked to die for Cons: Caesar and Service more

bad food, bad service 3/15/2009

Their food is nothing to brag about. I had a hot and sour soup that was below average. Their bread is ok and their muffins are horrrible. The staff has lots of attitude and it's much too expensive for what you get. Avoid. Pros: Example: best croissants in town Cons: mediocre baked goods, snippy service more

Quality Food, HORRIBLE service! 2/28/2008

I have tried Olga's Cup and Saucer several times because it is with in walking distance from my office. Every single time I have gone, I have always received great food. But something has to be done with the service. It is simply unacceptable. The two aweful girls, (mind you, not the owners who are very sweet) that work behind the counter did not make me feel welcome at all and this wasn't the first time. They don't say the common niceties you should say in a restaurant. They stare at you, or more like scowl at you, and if you need anything (napkins anyone?) they roll their eyes and lazily give them to you. You may think that I might be an equally horrible person for writing this but several of my co-workers and friends have experienced the same thing. Another instance where I was shocked: I asked for a box to wrap my left-overs in. One of the girls asked me almost incredulously what I needed to wrap. I told her ""my left overs"". She handed me a piece of FOIL. Didn't offer to wrap it, just handed me foil. No bag, nothing. Unless they change some of their staff, I am never stepping foot at Olgas again. It's a shame 'cause their baked goods are the best I've had in Providence. Pros: Baked goods Cons: Service more

places like this really do exist 11/17/2006

olga's is one of those ideal spots - beautiful, cozy, warm and filled with the smell of freshly baking breads and cookies. plus there is a garden and patio outside where you can sit have a morning meal and forget that you are actually in a city. i had a killer omelette and even the side of bread that came with the breakfast was amazing, with bits of apricot in it. the staff was so kind, too. Pros: freshly baked goods, coffee, patio seating, cozy and friendly Cons: can get crowded, not open on sundays more
