Randall is the man, and Sow N Sews is the place for any serious heavy-duty sewing to be done for a variety of reasons but the best reason I can think of is that Randall know what to do, to get the best deal for the time, money and effort invested. Always reasonable, always timely, always a pleasure to go to.
Randall does S.W.A.T., Fire, Police, Sheriff, Security, Body Guard and so much more sewing fabrication that I am aware of. On one weekend alone, I witnessed Randall make rigs for S.W. A.T. team members visiting the area, fist he made a drop leg rig for one, a tactical sling of another, and had a fireman come in to have his coat repaired with PBI Kevlar and nomex thread.
The same weekend I saw Randall make a guy two fixed blade knife sheaths and a duty belt. Another person came in to have a dog lead done, a lady brought in her purse to have the straps shortened; and heck I have my jeans and bibs shortened and hemmed there each year.
I highly recommend Randall and Sow N Sews. But and you know there is going to be a but, this guy is now retired and only works by appointment, so it means it is not OK to just stop by and expect him to be there. Also his wife is a bit grouchy if someone comes to their home door. She is looking for some kind of normal or less hectic, in their retirement years.
So I recommend anyone and everyone, call ahead to 765-747-1934 (home) or 765-760-7697 (ATT Cell) to ensure he is available, and also bring cash (small bills) as he does not accept checks, cards, billing; but I am told he does some barter and trade from time to time. And, Randall does not do sunday sewing, and he prefers afternoons as opposed to mornings most days.
That is the best I can recommend about Randall and Sow N Sews custom sewing N repairs. Oh, and there is no bathroom either. But there are several good restaurants nearby, and on weekends there is a flea market to visit. And the parking lot is great, and you can even reach the shop by the Cardinal Green-Way.
This may seem like a lot, but really Randall does try to accommodate everyone as much as he can; and is well worth the extra effort to seek him out.
And when you go there remember to take everything you want to work together with you; as he does not like to guess at what you ment to bring but didn't and likes to do things right the first time. And after all he is going to get your project done while you are right there or run an errand.
