We tried to visit the Old Oyster Factory while on vacation in August, and couldn't even get into the parking lot, so on this October timeshare week, we made reservations through our concierge desk. We were happy to be given a lovely seat next to the windows. Had it not been cloudy, the sunset would have been phenomenal! Service was prompt and swift. No time to linger! Three of us had the special caprese salad with lovely ripe tomatoes interspersed with mozarella and onion slices, and drizzled with a basil dressing. It was excellent. My husband had the oysters Moscovite and said they were very tasty. I took pictures because everything looked lovely. A tilapia special was great, according to hubby. The garnish of the food on the plate was pretty to look at and excellent. Our friends liked the pasta with scallops and shrimp. The basket of hush puppies were great. They have some standard wines, which we ordered, as well as cellar selections which offered something more special. Now, I am NOT a seafood lover and have been trying to get away from my usual filet. So, I ordered ""lump"" crabcakes. Being from Maryland, I do love crabcakes. These were good, but certainly NOT lump as advertised. And I would bet my sinking 403B the mashed potatoes were instant. So, all those good things, I am sorry to say, were offset by a very mediocre plate sitting in front of me. What a shame. Go for the sunset.
Pros: caprese salad, oysters moscovite, the view
Cons: instand mashed potatoes, no lump in the lump crabcakes
