Old Bridge Tire

I bought an Amazon local deal - 3 oil changes for $45. Last Saturday my wife brought our SUV in for an oil change (27,000 miles). Dan, the mechanic, called us after 2 hours and informed her that the rear brakes were metal on metal, and the rear brake job including replacing the rotors would be $419. I instructed my wife to tell him we would call him right back. I called the dealer and he quoted me $239. I called Dan back and said the dealer would do it for cheaper. He ranted that the dealer was not going to resurface the rotors for that price and it would be at least $600 from them, so i called the dealer back and confirmed that it would include the resurfacing of the rotors. I called Dan at American tire back and told him i wanted to see the rotors. When I arrived at the shop his story changed. I was not metal on metal as he stated but I still had a third of the brake pad left. He started pointing to the rust lip on the rotor saying it needed to be replaced. There wasn't a thing wrong with the rotors. They still had at least another 5000 miles of brake pad life left. When I told him that the dealer included the rotor resurfacing, he agreed to price match the job, but not be responsible for any vibration that would be present because they were resurfaced and not replaced. I told him to put my car back together and just change the oil. I brought the car to the dealer I bought it from and they took a look at the rotors and confirmed my estimate of at least 5000 miles left before the pads would have to be replaced, and that there was indeed nothing wrong with the rotors. more

What a bunch of crooks, My daughter took her car there because it wouldn't start. The guys were nice and told her to have a seat they will take a look. About 20 minutes later the guy comes in and says. OK we found the problem. The starter is shot because the valve cover is leaking on it. We also found that the belts need to be replaced too,also the  throttle body is bad too. They quoted her a price of $1200. On a car that's worth about 1000. when she told them she didn't have that kind of money the guy quickly drop the price to $800 that's when I told her to have them push it out into the lot I'll take it someplace else. I had it towed to another place. This guy replaced the starter, when I asked him about the oil leak he says what oil? under the car is dry as a bone. He also looked at the belts and throttle body and found nothing at all wrong. American tire on route 516 in Old Bridge, the people there are a bunch of crooks crooks Crooks and Liars! they take advantage of people who don't know better. needless to say the 1200 dollar quote they gave me was fixed for a total of a $150  just needed a new starter. Run or tow your car away from this place. more

Brought my SUV in recently for Radiator Leak. The charge was $25.00 and took over 2 hours to do, after I returned the cashier advised me that the radiator was bad and needed to be replaced. The quoted job was over $1500.00 for parts and labor. The radiator was less than two years old and in decent condition. So I took my business elsewhere. The place that eventually got my business inspected the radiator for free in less than 30 minutes. As I suspected the radiator was fine and all that was needed was a few minor adjustments. The final repair price ended up being less than $100.00. I am glad I followed my instinct on this one. This place is extremely dishonest and I would recommend taking your business to a more reputable, honest mechanic. more

I have a BMW ///M3 and they did a great job with the thin tire wheels and the performance high speed tires. These guys race Porsches and team track. The owners are true mechanics, explaining the positive comments from others. Clean shop, well run. Fair price. I definitely recommend. more

They specialize in tires but they also do brakes, shocks and mufflers. They will not try to sell you anything you don't need for your car like most places and the prices are very fair. more

This company sells tires and does other automotive work such as brakes. The are very honest, professional people. It is family owned and operated and you can realy trust them. They will not try to selll you something that you don't need. their prices are very reasonable and they are a pleasure to deal with. more

Old Bridge Tire has been a staple in OB for years. It is one of those places that you would probably only use if you live local but if you do they are great. My family has used them for years for tire changes and alignments but they also do breaks, shock and stuff like that. They are easy to deal with and can get you in on short notice. more
