Oko Sushi

I am from the Bay Area. I LOVE my sushi. It is a huge deal for me. I am thrilled to see a Japanese Cuisine restaurant here in Jackson. At first I was very skeptical, most sushi places I have been to were very 'westernized' and only offered the "California Rolls". (If I wanted California rolls, I might as well just go to Costco) \r \r Oko really does offer a good menu. I have had every sushi meal on that menu! I've also had the platters, and the Udon, and even some sake. \r \r The food is very tasty, you get a lot for your buck. \r The waitresses and Chefs are incredibly nice and polite. You can watch the cooks make your food as well as chat with them. \r \r It is clean, and it doesn't smell like fish. \r The fish is juicy, savory, and melts in your mouth. My favorite plate to order is the Bay Scallop rolls. \r \r I really like this place, and I hope they stay around for a good, long time. more

I love Oko Sushi and my kids love it to. We usually only get sushi rolls but the fish and rice always seem fresh. Kids love the california rolls. We have had the tempura veggies and shrimp a few times and those were good too. Great value compared to the city sushi rest. as well! more

They definately put the sticky in that rice of theirs. It was too sticky and i don't like that. The place is new for Jackson so that's good. Good tempura. more

Oko Sushi is very new to Amador County, but is definitely needed. I went home to visit my family and my mom took me here, their sushi was delicious. It is a cute little restaurant that you can either dine at a table or sit at the sushi bar. The employees are very friendly and get you your food fast. I definitely recommend people trying Oko Sushi since we do not have many Japanese restaurants in Amador at all. Their prices are good just like any other sushi restaurant you would visit anywhere else. more

It's not something you'd expect to find in Jackson, but it's here.Oko Sushi is wonderful. The fish is fresh and well prepared. The menu is expansive with choices of sashimi, sushi, rolls and also many ala carte choices and box type lunches and dinners.The box lunch comes with an entree, such as sesame chicken (my favorite), salad, rice and either half a California roll or gyoza (Japanese dumpling) It's a lot of food!I highly recommend the Chris Roll, the Ichiban roll or the chicken yakisoba. more
