O'johnnies Hallmark Shop

After patronizing this store for about 30 years I'm done. I had gone to the store at least twice a week to buy lottery tickets, greeting cards, magazines, and stationary items. On occasion I would browse the magazines after buying my lottery tickets. Recently however, I've noticed that the owner and one of the long time employees have taken to rudely rushing the customers away from the magazines if they browse under the pretense of "can I help you find something". I other words, if you're not buying something right away please leave! I guess they're not selling enough, but they need to learn from Barnes and Noble who figured out that when a customer skims a magazine in the store they often buy it because they get interested in the articles. B&N even put seating by their magazine rack and they don't seem to be hurting for business. Maybe O'Johnnie's will figure this out before they go out of business but I won't be buying my lottery tickets or greeting cards there anymore. more

While they are overpriced I continued to shop there because of its convenient location. Unfortunately the customer service is absolutely horrible! Either a young teen who is more concerned with texting and talking to her friend is helping you or an older cranky hag. The faces change but it's always the same personality (none). They are not friendly, not quick and they have nothing to offer that you can't get nearby. I generally support mom and pop shops but I will not go here again. Get your lottery tickets at Quick Check. Get your cards and balloons, newspapers, magazines and other Hallmark items at Mary's in Clarkton or at Shoprite. This site made me give it a star but my real vote is zero stars! more

Has a large selection of cards and gifts. Helpful staff. Free gift wrapping. Has a seperate section of gifts by relative, branch of service, sports team, occupation, breavment, frames, wedding, anniversary, Elvis, musicals, cats, dogs, animals, teachers, irish, nurses, candles, frames, dept 56 houses, hummels, lenox, crystal, precious moments, flags, office and school supplies. They are open 365 days per year starting ar 7am. more

I have been a regular customer, the card's are Great. I have never experienced such rudeness as I have in this store. It is not the young ones it is the older Lady, she's been there a long time. If I knew the owner's name I would write him. She is losing him or her customer's. They make all kinds of mistakes with the Lottery tickets then turn it around and blame the customer's. It happened a few times before and I let it slide but the last time was my last I will never go back. If they don't know how to operate the machine they shouldn't use it. Because of the rudeness I will not even go in for cards or gifts anymore. Dee D more

O'Johnnies is as great as it's unusual name. This store really has it all- gifts, cards, and a decent stationary selection. They even have a good amount of arts and crafts supplies. You'll definitiely find something to buy when you go in to browse at O'Johnnies. The prices aren't special, but the satore is pretty good! more

Cards are always good here. The staff are usually high school students so they are not always very knowledgeable or helpful. They have collectibles but the set up is slightly different than a typical store so it is much more viewing to find something you want. It is great when you are running somewhere and need to pick something up in a jiff. Otherwise I would recommend a larger store. more
