I just went to this newly opened neighborhood joint and was very pleasently surprised by the whole package!! The food was really good- very flavorful and fresh. I'm not one for "Cajun" food, but I think now I've been converted! We had the Gumbo and Jambalya, both we really, I'd say great. They had lots of other great, creative things like buttermilk fried asparagus, which are worth the trip themselves! All the sauces and dressings tasted really homemade and fresh.The Margaritas were really delicious and strong! I just loved the atmosphere, very comfortable outdoor patio and ccozy interior. The bar is welcoming and the staff was really friendly and attentive. I loved this place!! I'll be back for sure! I had not been to Offshore's until last week. I had heard so many good things from friends and neighbors so I finally gave it a try. Wow, what an upgrade for the Lake Highlands area. Great patio and I really enjoy the reggae music. It strikes me as a place you'd find down on the coast. COLD beer, big portions and spicy food. I especially like the servers because they are quite friendly and seemed genuinely glad that we were there. This place is the genuine article and is a real bargain. We were there on a Friday night and it was packed. It is a small, cozy place. The frozen hurricanes are potent and the atmosphere is really upbeat. We asked about oysters on the half shell and were told that they'll be available when the water in the gulf gets cold. I appreciate that type of information. Fantastic etouffee, cold beer, great music and right here a couple of blocks away from home. I'll be a regular down there.
