Thank you Ocean Physical Therapy 8/22/2011

I can't say enough great things about my friends over at Ocean Physical therapy. As tough as my injury and recovery was, they made it a great experience. A little over a year ago when I was planning my move to California to play volleyball and enjoy the active lifestyle, I didn't think it would involve physical therapy. It was just a few weeks before I left Boston that I tore my ACL playing basketball, and you can imagine that I felt pretty crushed. I opted to wait until I arrived in CA before I had surgery, rather than push my plans of moving until after surgery, or even after rehab. As soon as I got settled here I started researching knee surgeons and physical therapists. I ended up picking Ocean PT based on a recommendation from my surgeon, Dr. David Tal. PT went very smoothly, and we took my recovery at a steady pace as they recommended. When they said I was ready to do more, I did, and little by little I was getting back to my old routine and then some. I've been playing competitive volleyball for the last 6 months, and at 33 I am probably in the best shape of my life, partially because the injury made me start over slow and train properly. Thank you guys at Ocean PT. I really appreciate your hard work and your friendship. more

Physical Therapy is a Process 4/22/2011

Physical Therapy is a process, that requires an evaluation and planning by the therapist and follow through by the patient. Treatment plans consist of home exercises, therapeutic exercises in the gym, manual therapy, and modalities to help with symptoms. In most cases more than just one or two session are required. more

Poor care 4/14/2011

My review for this place is ""eh"". My doctor referred me to this place and i was expecting them to help me with my upper back pain. The first evaluation was okay. The receptionists are nice. I didn't know what to expect so i just went with the flow. The second time i came Farsheed made me warm up on the bicycle for 10 minutes. I really don't know why they made me do that because the stretched/exercises that i was about to do were not strenuous at all. They felt like warm ups in themselves. But anyways, after the bike warmup Farsheed had me lay down and he gave me a coupe sheets of paper stapled together for me to work on at home. He said ""this is the usual stretches i give to my lower back patients"". Right away i was thinking ""uhhh, i don't have lower back pain. I have upper back pain"". I'm a 24 year old athletic guy and this regiment i was given was for a 50 year old - very low impact and slow. Does he expect me to get better in a year? After making me do all of the stretches/exercises so i know how to do them he took me into a room and attached the TENs unit to my back. The setting was so low i didn't even feel it. I told him that i don't feel anything and he said ""no, it should be fine. let's keep it as it is"". Then he left me with that thing on for 15 minutes. That was pointless. I'd rather go to a physical therapist that KNOWS about the muscular system and that can use his hands not just slap some electronic thing on my back. Come on. I decided not to come back until i tried these out to see if the stretches/exercises helped. They didn't help me at all after doing them morning and night for 2 weeks. So i decided not to come back to him. Bad experience, not an individualized program for my problem, and generally poor quality care. Hope this helps! more

Great care! 3/19/2008

I live in Cardiff and this business was well worth the drive. I began seeing Farshid about 18 months ago when I hurt my back at work. Within just a few visits I began seeing results. The office environment is clean and friendly. His receptionist was always courteous and helpful. I recommend this clinic to everyone I know. Cons: No parking during lunch time more
