Ocean Beach Tanning Spa

I just moved to Orlando from Miami where I was also a member of a Planet Beach. I was shocked when I was looking for a Planet Beach here and saw the review from Melissa. I had a membership in the Miami location and I had no problem canceling when I moved. When I went to the MetroWest salon the first thing I asked about was their memberships. They had the same policy as the Miami salon. It was 60 days notice. The price of the membership was 49 dollars for the level 4 beds. I don't know why she said the membership is bad. I love it. I might have to move again in the summer so it works for me. Also, the staff is great! Much nicer then the Planet Beach in Miami. I'd recommend this place in a minute. more

DO NOT SIGN a contract at this place. Pay the extra money for month to month. Contract is explained very poorly and heaven forbid you have to break it before the 24 months is up.. You'll end up spending extra money anyways. \r \r I will tell everyone I know to stay away from this place. Very poor customer service by owner. more

Finally a nice place with good customer service. I love Planet Beach. Check out their High Pressure Bed! No turning over half way through! The bed is amazing! more

This salon is a joke. Not only do I pay an unbelievable amount for tanning, every time I walk in the place the front desk girls harass me! They come out from behind the counter and honestly it is very annoying, and weird. All they are about is annoying the customers and constantly trying to sell them over-expensive products, it makes me dread walking in there! Another thing that velocity bed is complete and total sh*t. It doesn't even work!!! Ever wonder why you can only use it 4 times a month? WITH a base tan? I would not recommend this salon to my worst enemy. Total scam! more

I became a member here recently after the salon I had been going to went out of business. I wish I had come here sooner. The place is spotless and the hours are great. I find the staff to be friendly and knowledgeable. I give this salon two thumbs up!! Pros: Clean, Open late! more

I'm also a member at Planet Beach and I want to share my experience at this location. I'm a flight attendant and I'm here in Orlando on a layover. My membership is with my home salon in Minnesota. I went to this location because it's closest to the Hotel we are staying. I got there late tonight around 10 and they were getting ready to leave. I turned around to leave as I realized they were closing. One of the girls came out to me to see if she could help. Anyway, they said it was not a problem if I wanted to tan as it would take them a while to close up. I just want to compliment this place on their outstanding customer service. I will never tan anywhere else but Planet Beach! Pros: Very Clean, Very Friendly! more

I have been a member of Planet Beach for over 5 years, been to several different franchises, and this is the only franchise I have ever encountered that was too snobby to honor memberships from other salons. Not only that, but their staff is not helpful at all.\r \r I called in advance to schedule an appointment, which they did not seem to understand and would not schedule. They told me to just come in and hopefully the bed would be available. I asked them to call and verify my membership from my home salon before I drove half an hour across town, which they said they would do, but when I got there they had not. Then they told me they would not honor my membership and that I would have to pay to tan at their particular franchise. \r \r In the past several weeks while I have been visiting town, I have been to several of the other franchises in Orlando, which all honored my membership and had very helpful staff members. If you are tanning in Orlando, do NOT go to this franchise! The other franchises are helpful, will honor your membership, and have most of the services this one offers!
