Ocean 60 Restaurant & Wine Bar

I read several reviews prior to taking my guests (all of whom are sophisticated diners) there for dinner. As a resident of Ponte Vedra Beach, I am accustomed to having several fine clubs and restaurants in the area, but I had not visited Ocean 60. I should have gone to a different establishment, one that I had visited before. IMHO, I don't know what restaurant the other reviewers visited, but it could not have Ocean 60. While the portions were generous, the food prices reasonable for the quantity, and the service is adequate (but quite a bit slow), the quality of food was very poor and the preparation was totally inadequate: grossly under-cooked seafood, beef stroganoff with less than two ounces of beef (actually this menu item should have been named ""Thai --or Asian-- noodles with some cream and mushrooms"" because of the seasoning), and food served cold. The wine list is barely adequate and the prices are well beyond reasonable for the quality of wine sold. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone, despite the owner's expression of regret about our meal. My take (trying to avoid ad-hominem) on this restaurant is that it caters to the 30-something Martini Bar crowd who are more concerned about social interaction and food quantity rather than quality. Ocean 60 was more than I expected. I must say that it was a delightful experience that I would most definitely try again. I was so tired of the chain restaurants that after time become boring with no suprise to the palate. The appetizers (mussels, scallops with dirty risotto, and crab cake were superb. The variety of martinis were delicious, and the entr?ƒ?’?†?€™?ƒ?€ ???‚??„??ƒ?’???‚????ƒ?€š?‚??e was superb. Thank you for awakening our palate. Our server was also so patientand attentive. Thanks kenny. I only wish that the chef and his wife would be more sociable to new customers not only to customers they have known for awhile. Other than that, Thanks for a great dinner. more

This is the place to go. Great atmosphere, wonderful service, tastfully decorated and cozy. The New Americana menu is diverse and will please even the most epicurious, but at the same time, won't scare off those that are less adventerous. Currently, there is a meat and cheese plate that is stellar, and they seem to have the ""In"" on some of the freshest seafood in the area. Why are you still reading? The venue is too small and the live music at the martini-bar is too loud. Also, they just bought new chairs in the bar area and they are horrible - you slide right off unless you are sitting straight up on the edge of the chair the whole time. This makes it uncomfortable. That being said, the service is impeccable here and the chef is wonderful. I wanted to split a dinner with my guest and so as not to ruin the presentation they split the sides and gave us each a whole snapper! I thought that was very generous. The food was a scrumptious as were the martinis. more

I love this restaurant! The food is absolutely amazing and fresh. Love the ambience (perfect for romantic date) and they have a great martini bar located next door that has great live music on the weekends. Definitely recommend! Pros: Food, Live Music, Fun more
