Editorial review from Citysearch 1/31/2013

We ordered shrimp po-boys, gumbo, and crawfish. Everything was wonderful. The shrimp on the po-boys were fried to perfection, gumbo was delicious, and the crawfish was very flavorful and hot! And hot in a good way. I hate eating bland crawfish and especially when it is overcooked. Not here, they boil it just right. They also provide you with plastic bibs so you won't get your shirt dirty while eating the crawfish. We plan to bring our family members here when they come visit us this spring. more

Great food at low prices! The best 6/2/2012

Great food at low prices! The best Gumbo ever! Even though they are known for their seafood, you've gotta try their fried chicken wings, they are the B_O_M_B!! In fact, I get weekly cravings for the battered wings- without the sauce please! Crawfish is always boiled LIVE to order and has so much flavor soaked into it! Mm! Mm! Mmm! My husband isn't too much of a crawfish person but sure loves their shrimp po-boys and fried seafood! My only complaint is that they should make bigger size orders for the fried wings because I can eat 7-8 wings easily! more

CANT GET ENOUGH OF IT 5/23/2012

The atmosphere is nice and calm. It has a great feel, right as we walked into the door we were greeted. The best part is we can sit where ever we wanted to and wear able to watch three different shows. The food was OUT OF THIS WORLD! The crawfish was absolutely AMAZING. Our waitress was the funniest thing in the world, she kept a smile on our faces. My friend loved the gumbo and she got catfish which was really good! I also enjoyed the prices and deals that they have going on to bring in people. All I am saying is that they need to advertise more. Overall was one of the best seafood/Cajun places I have ever been to. more

Ocajcens Seafood 4/23/2012

If you want real Cajun/Creole Food this is the place to be. The boiled crawfish and shrimp here is out of this world!!! You gotta try to believed it. Also the Gumbo and Etouffee were awsome. The owner really got it right this time with great customer service and a new chef from New Orleans. I would definitelt be back for more!! \r \r Leon more

Not what it used to be 12/16/2009

This used to be a really great place to eat. Some of the best Crawfish in the area-cooked cajun-no shaker style\r \r It appears it has turned over owners and now it is an asian restaurant pretending to be a cajun style dining experience\r \r The mixture of Asian dishes and traditional cajun menu items seems to be at conflict with each other as well as the ingredients and preparation of the food being less cajun style and more asian influenced.\r \r We had been to this place a few times before the last visit and while noisy and a bit slow it was worth it-Now we can cross another restaurant off our lists of place to eat Pros: Better Furniture Cons: Not true cajun cuisine more

O'cajcen is NO.1 10/12/2009

Actually,I am not from Texas but I have been here for visiting many times, and Crawfish was my favorite food ever. I have tried many places in Houston, but I strongly recommended this restaurent. Last time , when I am been here it was under old owner and the service was awful. Surprisingly It is now under new management, the new owner and staffs are very nice , and most of all the foods are awesome. They are tasty and always hot. I do not recommend floyd, baytown's seafood, but O'cajcen. Also, the new owner had put in new decoration. It is a great place for you , you friends, and your family to come. Pros: foods, service, good prices more

What happened here - this used to be a great place to eat ! 4/6/2009

Food was ok- but don't think I'll ever go back.\r When they were out of the crawfish we came for, we should have done ourselves a favor and left.\r The waiter / owner was extremely rude to us when there was a confusion about our order. We had a large table (there were about 10 of us) so I did not expect perfection.. and did not complain when our salad came out after our meal or when some of us got our meals at least 10 minutes before the others at the table.. but the couple waiting on us were arguing with us, arguing with each other..berated us and continually argued with us for order mixups. They even mistakenly gave one of our plates to someone at the table behind us and after they started to eat it, the waiter snatched it away from them and then put it on our table! Someone with such a short fuse and ill temperment should not be in the front of the restaurant around customers.. it was a very chaotic, uncomfortable, unpleasant evening.. When the food came it was good, but we were a little to upset to enjoy the family dinner we had planned. This was by far the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. Pros: Good food Cons: Terrible service more

Best In Houston 6/14/2008

My husband and I are both from Louisiana and both really love crawfish!! We have eaten at many other ""cajun"" places and no other compares to O'cajcens. I agree with the review said the crawfish need to be cleaned out and the dead ones certainly need to go. There has been a few times when the majority of our 5 lb order has been dead but I must say it has gotten much better. We always order EXTRA spicy and rarely have to add more of our own seasoning. Oh and the staff is relaxed and for the most part they are good. Hurry because crawfish season is almost over and you have to try this place!! THE SEASONING IS IN THE WATER HERE!!!!!!!!!!. I do not recommend Floyds, Woodrows, Magnolia Bar and Grill, Sam's Boat or any other place for crawfish! GO TO O'CAJCEN'S Pros: Good Crawfish, Good Service Cons: Bad Location more

Cold lacking flavor crawfish 3/13/2008

We recently went to dine at this place, and I must admit, I was left with a bad taste in my mouth. The crawfish we got were cold, and flavorless, the beers were warm,...we ordered five pounds, and only recieved 3, and were told that they had run out, but would have more in about 45 min. Now had these been good, we would have waited, but these mudbugs did not in any way rise to the ""O'Cajcen"" The service was good, and we left the kid a good tip, but here's one for the cooks,....PURGE your crawfish, use a little more seasoning, and for god sakes, watch for the dead ones,...half the ones we got had been dead before they saw the water. And the fried pickles need to be a little more FRIED. The ones we received were nothing more than soggy mush around a pickle. I am a restaurant owner/chef, and am probably a little more critical than some,...but this was just a little too much. Hopefully this posting will do some good. Pros: good, attentive servers Cons: food quality more

Now I can eat some Crawfish 7/2/2007

O'cajuns crawfish is Second TO NONE!!! Since they have opened I have not been able to get enough of their flavorful crawfish... They add just the right spice. I have tried other places in Houston but nothing compares to Ocajuns in Pearland. Its definitely worth a try to make a drive out to Pearland . Trust me you will keep coming back for more! Pros: parking, price, and CRAWFISH more

The BEST Cajun Cuisine! 7/2/2007

From the moment you walk into O' Cajcen you get the impression that you've been suddenly teleported to the heart of Louisianna. The ambiance of the restaraunt coupled with the ""down home"" smell of each dish makes a pleasurable dining experience. I've been there over 30 times since they've opened and each time has been an enjoyable event. The employees are very nice and helpful and the prices are reasonable. For true Cajun Cuisine -- what more could you ask for? Pros: Great food; Great Service; Great Prices; Great Location Cons: Nothing comes to mind more

This is my first time leaving a review because I just felt obliged to! My dining experience was awesome! The food was fabulous and the service was incredible.
