Oars Pc

Bad business: Took a laptop motherboard to Oars to have a power jack replaced. When I got the motherboard back the soldering job was terrible, they assured me that it was working and if I had any problems with it to bring it back in. Well I had problems with it so I took it back to them. They then tried to tell me that my battery was dead and I needed a new one. I was suspicious about the work they did so I took the motherboard to 3 other computer repair companies. All the companies said that they do not know how to solder and that they totally destroyed my motherboard beyond repair. I took the motherboard back to them with the information which was told to me. All I got was a dumb look from them and them telling me that the board worked fine when I left with it the first time. Everyone beware!!!! This company does not guarantee their work. Taking them to small claims court now. more

This place is definately not worth it. I took what I needed to the store because they said that was the only way they would be able to sell me the right product. I did that and was given the wrong product TWICE. When it was discovered they couldn't provide me with the product that I actually needed, they would only offer an exchange for a lesser product with a store credit for the $40 difference in cost, store credit of $80, or a refund with a 20% restocking fee. Really!!! Spend the extra and either purchase online, or find a pc parts and repair store that actually knows what they are doing. This place got 1 star because I couldn't leave any less. more

I love these guys! They have always treated me with respect and I have received wonderful service. I have used them for years. I will not take my computer anywhere else!! =) Pros: Wonderful Service more

I was referred to Oars pc by Radio Shack because they didn't have what I needed. I went there and took my modem with me so I made sure I would get the right one. The lady who was at the counter glanced at mine and gave me what she said was the same but different brand. Not being a computer person, I took her at her word. It did not have the correct connections I needed. It was after hours so I went somewhere else and replaced my modem. I went back to return it and was treated like I was a liar by the same sales person and the person she pulled from the back office. I did raise my voice because she refused to listen to me. The gentleman who came from the back office called me an ""A"" hole when I left the store. They will sell you what they have but are not good about making things right with a customer who trusted them to give them the correct item. They will take your money but refuse to stand behind what they tell you. Would not suggest using OARS PC ever. Cons: Horribly rude staff more

I have had good experiences and bad. I bought a laptop from them and they talked me into increasing the memory and I said good idea do it. Well a month later my laptop starts acting flakely so I brought it in and they said your memory chip bracket was broken. I said you are the only ones who have worked on on this laptop and you are the one's who upgraded my memory so you are the last ones to touch it. All they could do is stare at me. I could not get them to follow my logic. I like these guys but I wish they had as much integrity as they do computer knowledge. Once the computer shop was bought from the old owner it has gone down hill regarding integrity. more

I have always had a positive experience when working with everyone at Oars. They have always been upfront about what can be done and what can not. I have had computers fixed there that have broken down again with the same issue... but its a computer an electronic machine that breaks down. THey have always been helpful to rework the problem and get my computers back to me. I have had my home PC worked on there as well as the two notebooks that I purchased from them. Pros: They always back their work Cons: Sometimes it takes longer to get things diagnosed and fixed that I wanted it to more

I bought a Dell Desktop from Oars and found it was missing the video drivers. It froze up several weeks later and I had to toss it. I then foolishly bought another thinking it was just the one PC, but found this one also only had 16 color display. Now it will only start in safe mode. I strongly suspect they are not in compliance with Microsofts licensing policies and am contacting them soon. I would recommend Wholesale Computers on S. Mingo for about the same price! And you get a 30 day guarantee with it. Cons: Computers sold as is more
