I brought my couture wedding gown to Oakwood a few months after my wedding to be cleaned, have a small hole from the bustling repaired, and some bead work secured that had begun to come loose. I was quoted 2 months, my credit card put on file, and assured that it would be done. \r Today, the scheduled day for my pickup, I was very excited to get my gown back. Upon arriving at the Cool Springs location the girl behind the counter seemed confused that I was there to pick up a gown. She said they didn't have any gowns. I could see it from where I was standing, so she brought it up. I inspected the gown to find that NONE of the promised repairs were done. I was told the manager would call me the next day. \r After further thought, I returned and asked for my gown back so that I could have the repairs done elsewhere. Low and behold the manager was in. This manager then looked my order up in the computer while looking at the dress and said ""There must have been 2 holes as it's marked in the computer as complete."" There was only one hole and it wasn't touched. That makes me think the seamstress couldn't find the hole, or didn't want to do it and just marked it complete. \r Upon asking why the bead work wasn't repaired as promised I was told that bead work is $65/hour and that the girl who promised me that is no longer with them. My phone number is on file with them, and in 2 months they couldn't pick up a phone to tell me this. \r The manager who I spoke with, Rachel, was very patient and seemed understanding, but I am just not even remotely satisfied with any of the answers or solutions offered to me. In 2 months they couldn't repair a small hole or call me to remedy their employee's misquote. more

RUDE Manager and Returned WRONG wedding gown!!! 11/13/2011

RECEIVED WRONG DRESS & RUDE GENERAL MANAGER!! We drove from out of state just to have my wedding dress cleaned and preserved at Oakwood Cleaners. Through a few people, we heard great things about this place, and wanted to make sure my dress was handled professionally and did not want to take our chances. I dropped off the dress, and they made my mom pay for everything in advanced...fine, not a problem. A few weeks later, they called to say the dress was ready for pick-up. Because it would be a while before we could get up there. Tim, the general manager, kept giving us the run around insisting it would be too expensive. I told him I wanted a quote regardless. After several phone calls, we never received a quote and decided to have them hold it until my mom could come pick it up. She picked it up in June and they carried it to her car. This past Monday (4 months later) we opened the box to find they gave us the WRONG dress!!!!!!!!!! What if we had waited 20 years to open the box, or even 1 year?!?!?! Alicia, the ... MANAGER!! Alicia, the customer service manager, was more than pleasant to work with, and was just as shocked and horrified as I was. The gm Tim, on the other hand, was a rude, pompous jerk and treated my mom and I like he was doing us a huge favor by fixing his problem. We asked to have it overnighted, which they did, but not without him acting like he was going out of his way to do so. We also asked for a refund for the preservation of the dress and he said no. TIM IS A JERK!!! Their quality of work is good, but based on their lack of good customer service and professionalism, I would NOT recommend this place. If you do take your wedding dress there, MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THAT IT ACTUALLY IS YOUR DRESS more

Non-Toxic Dry Cleaners 1/31/2010

We use Oakwood...the Greener Cleaner and can vouch for them. It really does make a difference to have chemical-free dry cleaning, as other dry-cleaning chemicals are linked to cancer and other dis-eases. Although there are a few green cleaners in Atlanta, I think Oakwood is the only green cleaner in Nashville...which makes Oakwood a leader. :O) Pros: A real leader in Nashville more
