Both rinks are usually in use. They have hot snacks which comes in handy when you come on the ice. Speed skating, ice hockey and a few more going on. Something we all can enjoy.

Year-round, affordable ice skating 8/23/2005

The Oakland Ice Center is opened year round, 7 days a week. There are two rinks, one for the general public to use, and one for practicing hockey teams. Skate rentals are cheap, running about $10/adult. And there is no time limit. The rink is usually not very crowded (though you won't be alone). You can also sign up for lessons ranging from basic to advanced. Parking is fine. But, since it is located only a block away from the 19th Street BART station, why bother driving when you can BART in? more

Skating Ring 5/9/2005

This is a very nice to place to skate and have fun. The ring is huge and ice is very well maintained. They have food and other games for people to play. Would recommend to anyone that likes to go skating for fun or to learn how to do tricks. more
