Don't Take Your Dogs Here If You Like Them At All 12/14/2009

We recently moved from out of state & needed our fully vetted, healthy dog to get a check-up after he started scratching and coughing. Instead of determining the source of the problems, the elderly vet took our dog into the back and then asked us to come back in 4 hours with no explanation. When we asked what was wrong, we were told that he did not know but that he had started having him dipped and it would fix the problem whatever the case may be. We left with our dog reeking of burnt rubber & petrol and two bottles of medicine and hoped for the best. On the car ride home, our dog began scratching worse than before. After a week of administering the medicines, we realized that the bottles had been mislabeled and we were doping up our dog with cough suppressant and not vitamins, and treating the coughing with vitamins. Despite our best interests, we returned to the vet for the follow-up appointment. This time the vet actually tested him & determined the source. Unfortuantely, though, he found that the previous dip administered was ineffective for what he was suffering from. He would have to have a different dip this time that cost 4x's as much. ""As a precaution,"" he also tested our pup for worms with an instrument the same length he was that resembled a slurpee straw. We were sure it was about to come out of his nose after the vet shoved it in him resulting in horrific frantic howls and urination by our poor pup. (A day later he is still pooping blood.) When we came to pick him up, we asked to speak to the vet. I had to bring my husband along because my questions were typically tossed aside and only my husband's addressed by the shuffling senior citizen . When he petitioned the charges for the dip & his reasons for not testing our dog intially, he hung his head low, mumbled and left the room. When we went to settle the bill, we discovered that he gave us a whopping $10 discount on the dip but also that he had decided to give our dog a battery of vaccinations he had already received not 2 months prior!!! Not only did this add a significant amount to the total bill, it is unhealthy for the dog! We did not even receive a phone call to inform us of this added treatment! The only good thing about this place are the ladies in the front- they were always very courteous & professional. Pros: cheap Cons: antiquated veternarian practices, no bedside manner more

Best vet in the area! 3/30/2008

I love this vet clinic! My dogs have loved going here and being boarded here. The staff are friendly and conversational and have remembered my pets every time I have brought them in. One of my dogs got sick and I had to bring him in. One vet looked at him and immediately brought in the other 2 vets to look at him. Unfortunately my dog lost his eye (not because of the vets, but because of an accident), but the vets did everything they could to save the eye, and it felt good that you had several vets conversing on the best care for your pet. Pros: Many vets in clinic, great staff, you can tell they LOVE animals Cons: hours on weekends more
