Kylie & Annie's Treatment 12/4/2011

when my border collie fell suddenly sick they team pulled together and when I felt like I needed more answers they were there and would answer EVERY question I had about kylie before she died. I have recently adopted a dog from the shelter and when I called geraldlyn who even knew I was after 6 mths, She was excited to hear from me. (everyone else too as I saw them). She made me feel as if I was part of her family! They examined Annie really good and the way they worked with her I as pleased. I would defiantly recommend anyone here. I have a friend that will be calling for a cost in getting her Chinese crusted fixed. DR Dalrample is the BOMB! Leslie and Kendra and Joy are also the bom too. LOVE them!!!! Thank you for always explining the meds and addressing my questions. I love you guys! I would drive 40 min to get to you and have you continuing caring for my puppy Annie. telling me the truth about med more

Caring Vets and Staff 1/18/2011

My dog first went to Oak Grove when I first adopted him and the staff is kind and helpful. I am a new owner and the vet listened to my concerns and questions without making me feel silly for asking them-I would highly recommend this facility for your dog or cat! I am moving in the next few weeks and will be unable to continue with their service, but I truly appreciated all they have done for my puppy. more

Excellent care 4/28/2010

I have been taking my dog here now for years. The staff has been exceptionally helpful. My Maltese has fairly severe allergies and used to suffer from chronic ear infections and conjunctivitis as well as skin infections because her allergies are so bad. We tried several things in the past but only to have minimal improvement. Since I have been taking her to Oak Grove Animal Hospital they have her allergies under excellent control and she hasn't had an ear infection in almost a year now!! Her medicine can be quite costly but the staff has worked with me to keep her allergies controlled without draining my finances! They are very understanding and with their hours I have never had a problem getting an appointment! Very professional, friendly and understanding!! I am very satisfied!! more

Best around SErvice, pricing and care 8/12/2008

Went to Banfield with a new pup, horrible service, Annie(my pup) was limping said it was nothing and gave her some pills. Took her to Dr. Stephanie, in 5 minutes, she said ""it's her hip"" , confimred with xrays, took her to NC Vet school for second opionion and they were correct, now Annie thank to Dr. Steph and NC Vet school has a new micro hip. No longer limping, no pain. got a second pup Lilly, now we all go to Oak Grove. Kind, professional and the animals come first, no matter what you have. Great hours and never have a problem getting an appointment at the last minute or day. You can't go wrong with their care. Professional, understanding animal hospital. more

Perfect for your pet! 6/20/2008

What a great place! The staff is wonderful; they were very friendly over the phone when I called to make my appointment. When we got there, the staff gushed over our 7 wk pup. They all seem to love animals so much, especially the vet, Dr. Dalrymple, which made me feel really good. She is knowledgeable and concerned. The place is incredibly clean and does not smell like other vets' offices I've been to. Our little pooch is very comfortable there and we recieved really good advice when we asked about the hazards of training classes (potential for disease from other dogs). My husband and I are really happy to have found Oak Grove, we will not take our Leo anywhere else! Pros: Strong, supportive staff; extra-clean facilities; flexible hours (open on Saturdays); excellent service for a value price Cons: none at all more

Excellent care 5/12/2008

I highly recommend this animal hospital. My cat became very sick when he and I were visiting friends in Durham about a year ago. My friends had taken their cat and dogs to Oak Grove for about 15 years and were very happy, so that's where we went. Turned out that my cat's condition was critical, but Dr. Dalrymple and her staff saved his life. I'm now getting ready to move to Durham, and no matter where I end up living I'm taking my pets to Oak Grove. more

Great Vet Care! 5/1/2008

I've taken all my pets to Oak Grove Animal Hospital for many, many years. Dr. Dalrymple and the staff are professional, knowledgeable, and obviously care deeply about providing quality health care for all the pets that come to this hospital. My dog even looks forward to boarding at Oak Grove! It is exceptionally clean and she gets lots of attention! Recently, when we had to have our 15 year old dog put to sleep, they showed great compassion and support during this trying time. I'll continue to take all my pets here and highly recommend this practice to everyone! Thanks Dr. D. Pros: Great care all around! Cons: None that I've experienced more

One good vet and one not so good 3/6/2008

I have been here with my dog 4 times so I feel as though I can write this. The practice is nice and the staff cares about the well being of Buster (my dog) and me. EXCEPT for the owner of the practice. Her last name is Dowrimple and she is cold and borderline offensive. Im suprised she has any customers. Stay away from her. I first saw a vet there besides her (who doesn't work there anymore...probably because her boss stinks to work for) and she was personable and great. Then I saw Dr. Dowrimple and soooo turned me off. She told me that I was a bad pet owner in so many words because I didn't know my dog ate something, an obstruction she said and the dog can die. Sorry if the dog goes around the corner from my field of view and swallows something I did't see. I am a good pet owner. She was so very smug and seemed to actually enjoy that I felt bad, I know this because she was smiling when she told me this. She took Buster in the back and I can hear her being rude and mean to her staff. Who does she think she is...GOD? I told myself never to go there again. But I had to....this is the closest practice to where I live. So I took Buster in again, he had an odor from his ears and there was a new vet there. She was so compassionate and kind. I really liked her alot. She totally balanced out the other person. She was a new vet (looked really young with a northeast accent -NJ or NY) but very knowledgable, professional and gave me options and didn't make me feel bad at all. I have since went back and will only see her. Remember my words, stay away from the boss there...in my opinion she is evil. Pros: The new vet and proximety to my house. Cons: The owner who is also a vet more

Expert and Compassionate 1/7/2007

Kay is not only a fantastic vet, but a fantastic foster for our rescue (Raleigh Rodent Rescue)! She's a whiz with guinea pigs and great with other small animals too. Oak Grove has done a great job neutering guinea pigs and other animals for us. They are knowledgeable and dedicated, and the genuinely enjoy having rodents as clients. They treat every animal as an important individual. Kay is dedicated to rescue and is committed to providing the very best care to every animal see sees in her practice. Pros: Caring, kind, and well-educated in the care of a wide variety of species more
