Beware of coupons and coupon books from this location. (e.g. Free Large Pizza with the price of another of equal or greater value.) Sounds simple, right? They are misleading and the manager/owner does not honor them according to what is advertised. more

THE BEST ""EVERYTHING ON IT"" TRADITIONAL PIZZA 6/3/2007

No fancy ?designer? Italian pies deceptively calling themselves ?pizza? here. That?s why I refer to the original Italian-American pizza pie consisting simply of a pizza dough crust, tomato-based pizza sauce, your choice of favorite toppings from the original list of pizza toppings: pepperoni, Italian sausage, mushrooms, olives, onions, tomato chunks, real Mozzarella Cheese ONLY, etc., as ?THE TRADITIONAL PIZZA.? And I believe that the BEST ?Everything on it? Traditional Pizza is made at Numero Uno?s pizza restaurant chain and it is called ?The Slaughterhouse Pizza.? Their ?Slaughterhouse Pizza? is a deep-dish pan pizza?NOT Chicago-style?that consists of a 1-inch thick, slightly-sweet ?secret recipe? pizza dough topped with lots of pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, and green bell peppers. Smells heavenly and tastes oh, so delicious! HOWEVER, it does ?lose something? in the flavor when cooled and later re-heated. To verify why I believe this is the best ?Everything on it? pizza, you must first taste it freshly-made and hot out of the oven so that you can taste all of the flavors melding together inside your mouth. So, unless you literally live within 5 minutes of a Numero Uno location, try not to order this particular pizza for ?Take Out,? or else your FIRST IMPRESSION of the ?Slaughterhouse Pizza? will be a major disappointment. \r \r NOTE: Personally, I have often patronized both the Glendale and the Pasadena Numero Uno locations and the quality there is consistent. I have not visited the Toluca Lake location, but other pizza lovers have been happy with that Numero Uno location, too. While each Numero Uno location is independently-owned and operated, they don?t seem to work together as a whole: some owners just don?t care about the food quality at their restaurant?which could give all Numero Uno pizza locations a bad name; and not all restaurants will honor ?Numero Uno? discount coupons, either. So, buyer beware. \r Pros: Great Pizza. Good value for your money. Look up their ""Lunch Specials."" Cons: Re Pasadena location: Very limited parking available in their mini-mall parking lot. more

First-rate at some branches, ghastly at others 8/14/2005

Numero Uno may be the most inconsistent restaurant chain Ive ever eaten at. I should qualify that I have never been to the Pasadena branch, but the Glendale branch (316 N Brand Blvd.) and the Toluca Lake (4006 W Riverside Drive) serve the best thick-crust chain pizzas I have ever had -- thick sweet crusts, fresh toppings, lotsa cheese -- heavenly! On the other hand, the North Hollywood and Van Nuys branches serve pizza I wouldnt feed to prisoners of war. The long-closed Studio City branch was even worse -- I once sent back a pizza there because the crust was 2/3 raw! So, before braving any branches not mentioned here, get a recommendation first. Caveat emptor! Pros: Sometimes excellent Cons: Sometimes awful more

Great Pizza 4/13/2004

I love Numero Uno Pizza. It is some of the best I have ever had. They even have great lunch specials with Individual size Pizza. Really good prices. Go Get Some! more

Hot dang!!! 12/23/2002

The pizza here is so Good! Its absolutely one of the best! It dominates over pizza hut, dominoes, and all those other !@$!@ chains! And its affordable aswell! You can get yourself an individual size portion for just several bucks. The service could be a little rude though. The one on wilshire blvd the waiter treats you like your a red headed step child. But its all good.. Because I leave no tip! No not because im cheap, But because its there job to serve. And i wasnt born gratuitous! Just give me my delicate little pan pizza that I can savour with the tomatoey flavor and im Happy. As for your tip. Dont pee while the wind faces you! And as far as Numero Uno Goes. Dont know about it being ""Numero Uno"" But it sure might be Numero ""Dos"" o ""Tres"". Pros: Pizza Cons: Service more

Deep Dish King!! 7/24/2002

This is the original Deep dish pizza that Pizza Hut copied. This bread is so good, flavorful, sweet, and the sauce is great. They also put in chunks of tomato which i love. They also have these garlic balls....which are really good. Pros: best deep dish pizza, bread Cons: expensive more

Good pizza, fun time 6/27/2002

This restaurant is fantastic! I highly recommend it!! The food was great, the people were friendly, and atmosphere was decent. more

Best Pizza Chain 5/30/2002

Once I discovered this chain, I never ordered another salty Pizza Hut pizza, or flat, tasteless Domino's pie ever again. Ask for extra sauce, which is a yummy chunky tomato topping. Pepperoni, peppers and other toppings are baked underneath the cheese and the crust is perfectly doughy with a crisp edge. The staff at the Century City location is wonderful. The Romano bread puffs are great junk food. Get the thick crust pizza and order a large so youll have leftovers. Pros: Delivers, Friendly Staff, Inexpensive more

YUMMY! 5/19/2002

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this pizza. No other chain compares to the great taste of Numero Uno. I grew up with on located in San Gabriel, but sadly it closed. When working in Pasadena, I found this location and to say I was estatic is an understatment! There is also another location on Wilshire & Mariposa in LA that isn't listed here... for all you LA Numero Uno fans! Pros: Best Pizza more
