My first experience was many years ago when I was told by a mechanic (that I knew and trusted) that I needed 4 new tires. I left his garage and went to Number One Tire for an evaluation of my tires. They said they were fine and I was on my way. Since then I have had my car serviced and inspected with efficiency. Recently I had a problem with the heater in my 2002 Subaru. I brought it to Number One Tire and Joe, the manager, told me that they found a coolant leak in the head gasket and that it was a problem that Subaru had identified in 2004 and sent ot a notice to affected Subaru owners. I never received the notice (which Joe printed out for me) and he urged me to go to Subaru because they should be responsible for fixing it. I did and although Subaru said my car was not affected by that notice they got approval to fix my car for free. It ended up taking 1 1/2 days to fix it which would have cost me well over $1000. Joe could have just diagnosed the problem and not told me about the Subaru notice. I would never have known. Instead he was honest and directed me back to the dealership. I would recommend Number One Tire without hesitation.
