I was just at Novi's today, first time in a couple years as I no longer live in the area. Although the beef was still good they must have changed the recipe; it used to be spicy but now it tastes like any other average Chicago Italian beef. I was disappointed. more

I've been a Chicagoan all my life and there is no better greasy beef joint in the state, period. Other reviews calling Novi's beef ""ordinary"" or ""premade"" are clearly written by morons. If you had ever eaten there, you could see the massive slicing machines in the back which are always running. The beef is so spicy and tender. Sometimes you'll get a chunk of meat which is unfortunate, but worth the trip every time. Pros: Best Beef Sandwich ever; very affordable Cons: Kind of dingy. more

Good size and location parking lot is decent size. The food is reasonably prices. Menu has beef, hot dogs, burgers, and other various foods. The service is fast and friendly. more

This place has always been one of my favorites for their Italian Beef. The beef is spicier than most in Chicago but has a great flavor. Definately worth the trip! Pros: Great beef more

I have only been here once. I like to go more than once just to give places a fair shot. It was nothing special. Generic beef (A generic beef is one that has the same basic ingredients that you will find at any pizza/beef shop that chooses to drop some beef in ajue. Giardiniera is store bought. And the bread is the same.) but with different giardiniera that was oily and did not have a great taste. more

Great! 9/18/2006

Simply the finest giardinerra I have ever tasted! A dipped novi's with provelone and plenty of those peppers cannot be touched. The beef itself is seasoned wonderfully along with the nice fresh bread.. It's a winner every time. Pros: The Beef! Cons: Oak park&Ogden can be busy during rush hour. It's hard to turn left comming from the east. more
