July 2011-- My friend had been bugging me to visit her ""magical doctor"" for so many months that I decided to go in with her on her visit to check him out and to shut her up. I can't believe he got a bad review. Yes, I'd say most doctors are weary of strong narcotics if they are really not yet needed, but I have mild Fibro and psoriasis and the arthritis that goes along with that and all he had to do was push on one specific region on my spine and I flew across the room in screaming severe pain, so he knew I was not a drug seeker and I got all the meds I wanted on my first visit with him, including a strong narcotic without hesitation. He listened to my entire life's health history for about an hour. I too wanted to try a dangerous drug like Humira or Stelara for my psoriasis and he did explain why he would not prescribe that due to the massive list of dangers.. My usual doc said the same thing and since they are both just regular docs, they should not be prescribing super dangerous meds like Remicade or Stelara. This is only for your Rheumatologist to consider. But as per narcotics, he has no problems with those for me or for my friend who has Ulcerative Colitis and Osteo Arthritis, AND he gives cortisone shots right there in the office so you don't have to go to a pain clinic. He is quiet, so I can see how one might read into that as being rude. But he's a good guy. I am gonna go again and see if he can control my scalp psoriasis as he says he can without the use of the Steroids or Imuno-Suppressants. We shall see... 8-3-2011...Yahoo he fixed me! ""Taclonex Scalp,"" for my newfound psoriasis, was his 2nd try after egg yolks. The Taclonex actually worked. I had been using very strong steroids creams that seemed to make it much worse. I'm so pleased with Dr. Churney. He is gonna be a keeper. Also I've learned more about him; and what others say is that Yuri Churney has zero hang-ups about narcotics whichever strength you want, and is sought out because of his willingness to prescribe narcotics where appropriate; how-ever-many you want with 2 refills before you have to make a new appointment (when you are a new patient.) It is his wife that refuses to ever prescribe any narcotics even in cases where they are totally appropriate. They just agree to disagree on this issue. The only problem is that english is not his first language and most of his patients are Russian/Ukrainian. And he speaks 5 languages and english is likely his weakest language, so I can see where there may be a communication breakdown for this reason. more

I went to him several years ago because he was part of my HMO network. BIG MISTAKE! The red flags started when his secretary that received my medical history would not make me a copy (even though I offered to pay). The doctor was not familiar with many of the medications (common medications) I was taking. One of these happens to be a pain medication that I have to absolutely take. He told me that he didn't believe in prescribing narcotics. He also told me that I needed to concentrate on drinking fish oil for my pain. I have rhematoid arthritis. Anyway, when I asked about Remicade, he said that he would never refer me to anyone to take that medication. Well, after three visits, I was fed up. I switched doctors to someone who is a million times better than this BOZO! more
