I never hired a moving company before. I checked online, read the reviews from many sites, (Berkeley Parents Network, Yelp, etc) North Star moving came highly recommended and it all turns out to be true. My moving team lead by Guy Hacyma (foreman), Jose and Carlos. Showed up on time, in fact early. They got down to business right away, Guy explained the contract to me,very carefully. They asked questions about the important pieces of furniture, Everything was wrapped and padded. Its all went very smoothly. The unloading went smoothly as well, they couldn't have been more helpful or polite. I highly recommend them for your move. Pros: wonderful service more

Finding a mover was a headache the last time I moved, so I wasn?t looking forward to it this time, a co-worker of my neighbor used Northstar and said they were very good, so I called, was impressed with their service over the phone, and I was blown away on the day of the move. They were quick and very friendly, even my dog liked them ? he parked himself on one of their blankets so they just let him keep it for the day. They moved our two bedroom townhouse across town with not a thing broken. I don?t plan on moving again anytime soon (just thinking of packing everything again can trigger a panic attack?) but when I do, I know who to call. more

My experience with NorthStar started with a clear quote with itemized cost. And it's exactly what I paid at the end with no hidden cost or extra charge. \r \r On the moving and delivery day, Oscar and the crew are courteous, professional and efficient. They arrived on time, protected my furniture with great care and finished the job quicker than I expected. \r \r The closest street to my new apartment's entrance is a no-parking zone, the movers were willing to park on a side street and carried the items for extra distance with no complaints.\r \r I was moving from northern CA to southern CA. And among all the moving companies (including the more well-known big names) I inquired, NorthStar is the only one that offered second day delivery. And they kept their promise. It made the move so much easier. They are also very responsive and kept me informed along the way of all the information I needed.\r \r My whole experience with NorthStar was an absolute delight. I had a local move within the City. They came and moved me from the third floor (stairs only - no elevator). They showed up on time, were pleasant, and actually moved weights (ie, pumping iron weights) without complaint. Didn't charge a dime extra. Yesterday, December 5, I moved from Palo Alto to San Francisco. Never having moved such a volume of possesions before, I was anticipating a nightmare of a day. But the two gentlemen NorthStar sent to assist me in this endeavor, Craig and Liron, made all the difference. Besides being extremely careful with everything (both my furniture and the two apartments) they were efficeint, professional, polite, and all around a pleasure to work with. NorthStar did an outstanding job of packing and moving my things. Quite frankly I was expecting some things to be broken. However, to my surprise not one thing was broken and everything went as smooth as could be expected. I had approximately 15,000 lbs. of items to move. I wanted to thank the Northstar Moving group for a fabulous job. We hired Northstar Moving on August 4th to move us out of two storage units and where we were staying to our new home in Los Angeles. I had gone through surgery on the 2nd and was in no condition to move around a lot. The Northstar Moving team was great. I slept in while my husband met them at the first pick-up point. Then they came to the 2nd and that is where I met them. When we arrived at the new house they found something for me to sit on and I set in one place in the garage telling them which room the items went. They were great. Just want to inform readers that i had an extremely pleasent moving experience on August 3, 2007. With the help of the movers, I was able to have a smooth moving day. My family and I would like to extend all of our gratitude to Ram, Gonen, and Yoni for a very successful moving experience. Our move from the San Francisco Bay area down to San Diego could not have gone any smoother. First, we wish to express our gratitude to Ram for all of his courteous and helpful advice. The information that he provided was central to us choosing Northstar to do our move. He was always honest and upfront with what the charges would be and the timetable for the move. The movers came exactly when promised, delivered all of our belongings on the exact date that we wanted, and did an excellent job. Both Gonen Shlomo and Yoni Simmons were very efficient, friendly and professional. Indeed, they went the extra mile to make sure that all of our belongings were packed carefully and efficiently. When it appeared that there was too much stuff for them to handle alone, they quickly called for extra help. Gonen and Yoni were so careful in wrapping the furniture and all of our fragile items that ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WAS BROKEN OR DAMAGED. I would use them again, without hesitation. Gonen and Yoni deserve our highest compliments. Indeed, the whole Northstar team, with Ram as the point person gave us excellent service at very reasonable rates. Ram's immediate attention to all of our concerns made the whole moving experience a lot less stressful. I know that if we ever need to move again, I will call on Northstar without hestitation. I wanted to drop a note to thank NorthStar for the wonderful job they did in moving me. This was the first time I have ever used a moving company and what a pleasant surprise it was. Because of the delay in getting my notifications from our Homeowner's Association regarding the date I was required to move and from the construction company regarding the move back date, I realized that I was rushing them to do everything from estimates to scheduling the move date, out as well as back into my home. This review comes in praise of NorthStar's crew, who moved a partial load of household goods for us on August 14, 2007. These men were prompt, courteous, and careful, and they were remarkably efficient. Our load included a piano which had to be moved up into the second-floor living area of our home--NorthStar's team planned carefully and executed the lift with remarkable strength and care. We have just now completed unpacking, and we have detected no damage to any of our goods! We completed the first phase of this move a few weeks ago, with another mover. That move was with an undersize truck and inadequate provisioning, and it cost nearly double the estimate. This previous disastrous experience helped us to appreciate the quality of the service we received from NorthStar. We will recommend NorthStar to our friends and neighbors. The three movers on the NorthStar crew (crew chief Omri, Jose and Doron) arrived in a timely fashion and proceeded to work diligently throughout the day at my house. They were kind, smart, motivated, and my neighbors and I enjoyed having them there. I also thought they took great care and pride in providing me excellent moving services. Coincidently, a good friend is moving his home from Brentwood to Berkeley and happened to ask me if I could refer him to a moving company. I immediately suggested NorthStar based on my positive experience with Joe, the moving crew and the entire moving experience. NorthStar moved my furniture, furnishings and belongings within San Francisco on August 13 ad 14, 2007. I want to take this opportunity to commend this company on its efficiency and quality of work. Too often, I imagine that they hear nothing but complaints but it seems appropriate to give a commendation when earned. The young men who came to do the work, Gonen, Lior, Shai and David were courteous, efficient and very careful in their work. They did an excellent job. On July 2, NorthStar moved my belongings from Berkeley to Albany on one of the hottest days of the season. They were remarkably friendly, swift, cheerful and hard working. This was my second move with NorthStar, as I used their company in April to move my business from San Jose to San Mateo. This former move utilized 4 men and 2 trucks. I am writing this letter to let you know that you have a group of employees who are absolutely outstanding. Starting with the first person we spoke to who arranged our move, through the men sent to do the actual moving, all were exemplary. The group of men who packed and delivered our goods were wonderful.
