Editorial review from Citysearch 9/9/2013

PART 1 OF MY REVIEW:\r HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.\r When you become a Vet i certainly think it is for the love of animals & certainly not to be similar to fast food chains with animals in & out with disregard, in my humble opinion (IMHO). I picked up my (adopted) young feline after a routine spay surgery, only to get home & see that her surgery looked as though done by someone other than a Vet/Surgeon, IMHO. My poor little feline has protrusion pushing toward the area of the stitches with a sack like area around it, which could be filled with God knows what. I picked up my baby girl thinking all was well, after all they sign their work with a tattoo showing the animal has been spayed. I kept my darling kitty cat in a large size dog crate, while catering to her every post op need. Though within the time frame they gave me to feed or give water, i also carried her gingerly to a clean litter box to do her business, in which i did not even allow her to get her paws dirty by covering up her business, as i again, gingerly carried her back onto her plush blanket in the large dog crate for her own protection to heal from this surgery (i wanted her to take it easy). She had plenty of water (refreshed) & food once she was able to eat/drink as directed by clinic as far as time frame to feed/water after said surgery. Well, upon taking her to the litter box for her 1st business, i saw it, and i was HORRIFIED.:0o I am not a vet, though it looked to me to be some sort of tube distended while trying to protrude the area where here stitches were, which was surrounded by a sack like pocket looking as though it could be filled with anything from blood, puss, etc. AND it was pink/purple!!! Her surgery was on Tuesday, 3 SEPT. 2013~!!!!!!!!! I let her sleep and gave her water at 7pm that same day, as directed by clinic & a bit of food. The next day, 4 SEPT. 2013, when she was ready to go to litter box, as stated herein, i took carried her there & carried her back, i noticed this protrusion, but did not know if it were to be expected from this type of surgery. HOWEVER, the very next day, 5 SEPT. 2013, even with the special post op care received by me (her adopted mommy), this protrusion was looking quite WORSE!!!??? I contacted the NORTH VALLEY ANIMAL CLINIC, FT. MOHAVE, AZ to no avail the day before, BUT no one answers those phones, they ring on incessantly--TO SEE THE REST OF MY REVIEW--EITHER USE CITYSEARCH LINK TO MY BLOG OR USE ANY INTERNET SEARCH FOR ME: LadySoniaLorraine \r more

Priorities 8/12/2012

Staff more interested in charging for office visits and unnecessary tests and lab work. This clinic has it's own pharmacy and pressures patients to purchase from it. This is a smaller town with limited choices for vet care and this place takes advantage of that situation. There is a new practice in town. We will be going there. more

A Clinic To Call Home 9/12/2011

The clerk on the phone was very polite and helpful and I can sense this is a great clinic. My husband who used to be a vet assistant in TX can tell if someone isn't a good professional vet clinic and so far they got my 5 stars. Look forward to start a good patient/Vet relationship. more

RUDE RUDE RUDE!!! 5/13/2011

I've been taking my pups to Dr Pam for years, and have been very happy with the care she has provided.....until now. A baby owl fell out of the nest and ended up on our doorstep. We rescued him and took him into their office to be rehabed. Roxanne read me the riot act and was extremely rude when I brought him in. YEs I know owls are an endangered species...YES I know it is illegal to keep them. This is why I brought him in....\r \r If ever I am faced with this situation again I will NOT be contacting this clinic! more

HORRIFYING 1/12/2011

HORRIFYING EXPERIENCE!!!! I am devastated. My parents had their 8 month old Sheltie pup neutered on Friday 1-7-11. Timmy was having complications and my dad called the office on Saturday to be told that the doctor wasnt in until Monday. My dad called 3 or 4 times over the weekend in a panic as he knew there was a problem with Timmy. He wasnt eating or drinking and he was vomiting. He was getting weaker by the moment and told them that he thinks the pup needed IV to get his strength back. My dad spoke to someone that claimed to be the doctor on call and was told to take the collar off and try to hand feed which he had already been doing. Anyway, long story short, Timmy dropped to the floor early Sunday and passed away!!!!!!! This is absurd! I can't say that Dr Pam did anything wrong in surgery as I don't know that. However, BEWARE- This is the worst case of neglect I have ever heard of. It is uncaring, unprofessional and completely unacceptable to have a animal clinic that does not have a vet physically available for emergencies after a surgery that was performed in THEIR office! My parents are devastated and heartbroken!!! My dad also claimed that the ""Dr. on call"" had limited English and was oblivious to his concerns. Again- this was an 8 month old healthy purebred Sheltie!!!!! He was just a baby that should not have died after being neutered!!! My dad called yesterday morning and got an ""I'm sorry"" and made an appointment to return their collar!! I am shocked... One would think they would at least offer to take his body and determine the cause of death. I get better treatment and care at the car wash!!!!!!!!! more

Horrible 12/30/2010

Took my cat in for treatment. Vet misdiagnosed problem. Ended up putting my cat to sleep. Front office staff, not friendly, not helpful and are highly unprofessional. Had an emergency with another pet. Front office staff took message for the vet to call back. Never heard from vet. Next morning, I called again. I was told that the front office person forgot to give the vet the message. Their response was basically "oops." Unknown where two of the vets are licensed, as they are not licensed in Arizona, California or Nevada. more

Vet-good, Office Staff-Bad 3/30/2010

I agree that Dr Pam is a good vet; caring, knowledgable, etc. But her front office staff IS very unprofessional. I've been there off and on for years (as she's the best vet in town), and I've never been there when the office staff actually greeted me or smiled (even if they weren't busy!). They DO GOSSIP - a lot - about everyone and everything. Good thing Dr Pam is such a good Vet, otherwise, her rude staff would run everyone off! more

North Valley Animal Clinic is the best. By Jillian A. 9/14/2009

I also must disagree with Kris B. I have found the service at North Valley to be incredible. I have been a faithful client for over 20 years. Dr. Pam is the best and so are all of her employees. The short haired tech is one of the most caring people I have ever met. If you have a problem with your pet, she is very knowledgable and compassionate. All of the girls in the front office are incredibly helpful. And from what I have seen, all of these girls are always busy and try to be as helpful as possible. And I have seen them at one time or another put up with alot from some of their clients, they have always remained professional and caring. They are the best, and I thank them all for all their hard work.\r They always seem to be up on all the latest treatments. Now they are offering acupressure and massage therapy. I think this is great. more

If it wasn't for North Valley 9/11/2009

I disagree with the person who wrote the Terrible Service review. I go to North Valley all the time. I have many animals. When I am in the office, I am always treated with kindness for me and my animals. The girls up front are always concerned for their well being. It is a very busy hospital, and the staff there do a wonderful job in keeping up with the clients in there. Dr. Pam is a wonderful doctor, and I never see the staff be rude to any clients, but I have seen them take alot of attitude in return. I would recommend North Valley Animal Clinic. Because if it wasn't for north valley, i would of lost my scruffy at 2 years of age. And here we are 7 years later. more

Terrible service 2/10/2009

I would not go back to this veterinarian practice. I received terrible service, and I found the staff to be extremely unprofessional. While I waited to be called to the examination room, the vet techs and office staff were gossiping about some of the clients. This is not a very large city, and I recognized some of the names. They were talking about one woman who was having trouble paying her bill and laughing about another who they thought was overly emotional about her dog. I really believe it is completely unacceptable for this type of gossiping to occur in front of customers. Unfortunately, the visit only got worse. The woman who initially examined my dog was extremely rude and overly rough (she had very short hair and a lot of earrings). She ignored my concerns, and tried to persuade me to agree to a service that I already knew was not necessary. I would never go back to this vet office. more

Dr. Pam and Dr. Kate Rock 8/23/2005

Dr Pam and Dr. Kate are the best... We had a Pitbull attack my chihuahua and they made sure that they helped every way possible... Also, had another chihuahua get a very large lump on the side of her face and they took very good care of her, drained it and put a drain tube in it till she got better... LOVE NVAH>>>>>>>> more
