North Royalton Animal Hospital

I took my Miniature Schnauzer to Dr. Hechko for years. She had many generic problems due to bad breeding. Several times I called to explain a problem, he was always available to answer, even if the receptionist had to call him at home, or while he was away! When my dog had a relapse of IMHA the other Vets took care of her. She had to be put down! It was a very hard time for us. Dr. Hechko was on vacation at the time, and when he returned he called to apologize that he wasn't able to be here for us. Is that the sign of an unconcerned vet. I don't think so! He is the most compassionate Vet I know, and I've been to several others in past years. His staff is also wonderful! I now have a four year old rescue Schnauzer who I wouldn't take anywhere else. Of course it costs money to care for your animals! If you want the best care, take them to this hospital. You won't be sorry! more

I recently moved to the Cleveland area with my 12 year old Westie and began seeing Dr. Hechko for a routine teeth cleaning.....He is incredibly professional and called me personally to tell he how my buddy did, since I was very concerned. \r I very recently lost my friend and not only did the office allow me to come in without an appointment, Dr. Hechko made time for me to make the most difficult decision of my life late into the evening hours. He and his staff was incredibly sympathetic to my family and I am forever grateful. They also sent us flowers and a paw print of my dog the next day. In 12 years of Riley's life and many different vets due to moving, Dr. Hechko was by far the best!\r \r Thank you again for making this heartbreaking ordeal as comforting as possible. more

I have been bringing my pet to Dr, Hechko for about 3 years and wanted to share my latest experience at the ofice. While i was waiting for my cat to be seen someone came in carrying a big dog that appeared to be in severe distress. I was amazed at the way the receptionist and staff rushed them into the back for emergency care then appologized to me that it would me just a slightly longer wait for my appointment. I could tell that the Dr and staff were genuinly worried about the dog's condition and doing everything they could to help. The Dr. then turned all of his attention to my kitty as if she were the only patient he had to worry about that day. I loved the individual attention and care he showed and i will never go anywhere else! more

The hospital is clean and the staff is caring. However I find the prices outrageous. Every time I take my dog there for one thing they find two more things that might be wrong with him and want to do further testing. I honestly can't afford this. more

I have been taking my dog for several years and now my puppy. My older dog has horrible skin allergies and is always at the doctor. Dr. Hechko and staff are always very loving to me and my animals when I have a concern. They get us in right away whenever I call and follow up consistently with phone calls home. I am there a lot and pay a lot and I appreciate the wonderful care and consideration they give me and my animals... more

My son and dayghter inlaw take our dogs to Dr Hechko, I have never seen a more caring persona nd staff as these wonderful people. We had to have our little min pin Satin put down this past week and the caring ways of this staff made a terrible situation easier to bear, thank you Dr Hechko and staff, slama family more

Very happy with service and very reasonably priced. I am confused about the negative post. This was not my experience when I took my dog to board. I had a very different experience - a very good one. Dr. and hospital came very highly recommended. Dr. was younger, but seems harsh to criticize someone for looking young especially when the quality of care was great. more

I am so very thankful to Dr. Hetchko for treating me and my dog with love and care. I am truly grateful to him and the entire staff for treating us like people and not $ signs. I have dealt with many vets for the past 10 yrs. and never have any of them made us feel so loved. I HIGHLY recommend letting this hospital care for your loved ones. After all, they are part of the family. My dog received better care from this facility than most hospitals have given to me as a human being. I will never forget what they have done for me and my family. My dog was my best friend and she will never be forgotten. I was googling the website for North Royalton Animal Hospital, and wanted to write this review to say my experience has been much different than the last reviewer. I have worked at three animal hospitals in the past. I have been going to Dr. Hechko for more than a year. With that experience, I can easily say that Dr. Hechko and the staff of the North Royalton Animal Hospital are well-trained, caring, and professional on all levels. \r I was really surprised to hear anyone would worry about Dr. Hechko's age or question his level of experience and interest in their pet. They clearly did not visit the same place I take my pets ( a cat and a dog). Dr. Hechko returns my calls at all hours of the day or night, and has already saved me a trip to the emergency clinic (their bills start at $200 just to walk in the door!). He also made a diagnosis on a skin allergy that two other vets have missed (including one I worked for). His medicine is top of the line, but he didn't automatically recommend the most expensive test as the first line of attack. Dr. H even takes the time to tell my three year old what he's doing during exams. \r As for boarding, my dog and cat were well-cared for, and the place is spotless. I was even allowed to make sure they were settled in before I left them to board (ok, I was partly just checking up on them to see that everything was in order, and even the kennel is neat and odor-free, and they have a separate quarantine and cat boarding areas--a really nice feature). My 10 year old cat is really obnoxious at the vet, but the whole experience with her has gone as well as it could have. She had a dental done while she was boarding, and came right home with no problems. \r I wish they were a little closer, but I'll drive the 30 minutes to know I'm doing the best for my dog, and by avoiding pricey veterinary dermatologists until we absolutely have to. And, don't miss the free pet carnival every summer! Pros: Clean, great evening hours Cons: Wish they were closer more

The new vet Dr. Hechko greeted us and we went into his examining room. He also seemed very short with us, sighed and yawned, and seemed like he would rather be someplace else! He looked like a young boy, dressed up like a vet! It's hard to trust the advice given when he seems so young and cocky! Everyone there seemed to talk down to my husband and I. Our puppy checked out fine, but would not go back to this clinic. Also, the prices that were charged seemed quite high. Shop Around! Pros: Clean Cons: Show more respect to your customers! more

Dr. Hechko is a fresh, young veterinarian who is very eager and excited to care for your pet. He cured our kitten from a nasty upper respiratory infection that developed soon after adopting her. Whenever I had to call his office, he personally spoke with me and rendered advice and treatments that saved her life. Next, she had a bad reaction to her feline leukemia vaccination and at 9:30pm Dr. Hechko wanted me to bring her to the clinic to check her out. We opted to wait til morning, and by 8:30 am, Dr. Hechko personally called me to check on my kitten. He and his staff have impressed me as very knowledgeable, kind and caring. more

Took my dog to this animal hospital. Very happy with the doc. My dog really liked him and his staff. Very reasonably priced, especially for the quality of care. Been to other animal hospitals in the area, but will take my pets here. I will definately go back. Nice building - very clean. PROS: great doc - reasonably priced CONS: nothing more

I would like to highly recommend this veterinarian to the community. Dr. Hechko is the new owner of the hospital and has put a lot of time into updating the facility. He is very thorough with my animal and has helped relieve his allergies! This is a first for any veterinarian! The staff is great and they have a wonderful boarding facility. Can not recommend this place enough!!!! more
