I would highly recommend the NPWC. They give discounts for biking, they have a beautiful, cozy, old converted house, and they serve tea to help you relax before your appointment. Most importantly, Sarah, the LMT, got to the point, and relieved the stress I was holding in my back for months. The girl at the front desk is also very personable, friendly and made me feel right at home. more

I have been looking for a qualified acupuncturist for a while. As I am very picky, it has been a long search. I just went to see Annabelle this morning and I am so happy! I have never had a new Doctor take so much time for an initial consultation as Annabelle did. She was calm and caring and extremely attentive. She ""checked in"" with me numerous times just to make sure that I was comfortable with everything she was doing. I have booked weekly appointments for the next two months and I'm looking forward to this being a long-term relationship. Thank you, Annabelle! more

I have had wonderful results in the short time I have been seeing Colleen. I have had serious neck pain problems for years, and have been on a considerable amount of pain medication. Since starting with Colleen in October, I have been able to reduce my pain meds while experiencing an overall reduction in my neck pain. I have also had massage therapy with Tiffany. Her massage (wonderful!) complemented Colleen's work, and reduced my pain level even further. Everyone at the Center seems truly concerned with your well-being. The setting is very calming and relaxing. The staff offers a variety of possible treatments that might work for you. I have recommended the Center to several people who have long-term pain problems. more

I've seen Mary Chen a few times now for acupuncture treatments, and feel so lucky to have found her! She has listened very closely when I've explained my issues & has asked a lot of questions to help figure out what needs to be done in my treatment sessions. Colleen Bunker has done wonders for my physical issues--lower back, thumb tissue, finger joint, and the constant, always present pain in those areas. She has also helped my sleep issues and my moods! After frequent, regular visits for several months, the pain is diminishing and I can stay regulated with treatments every 3-4 weeks. She is a master at acupuncture and Chinese medicine and I have had great relief from her treatments and advice. Thank you, Colleen! more

I have been suffering from adhesive capsulitis (frozen sholder). I am told it is hormonal, all I know is it is very painful. I have been seeing Colleen who had been giving me some releif with acupuncture but I was not getting back the range of movement very quickly so I decided to try chiropratic. On my first visit I saw Glenda Culbertson. She listened to what I had to say about my condition and the terrible pain I was in then proceded with some ultra sound and gentle manipulation on my upper back and neck. Two days later I was amazed that I was able to get a big increase in my mobility of my arm. I have had three visits that have been helping and will be going back for more. If anyone has had this problem then you know it takes months of physical therapy to get back to normal. This is my favorite place to go! more

Like all people I suffer from the occasional bouts of stress, well who am I kidding - I am a constant stress-ball! For the last three years I have gone from doctor to doctor, seen chiropractors, pain specialists, acupuncturists with no success and no relief. Then my boyfriend got into an accident and started seeing Kalina at North Portland Wellness Center. After the first session he told me I needed to see her, but I was skeptical. Finally after his 100th insistence I made my appointment. I am SOOOO HAPPY I did. Kalina, along with everyone at North Portland Wellness is Amazing. Not only are they great at what they do, but they honestly care about their patients. After getting the run around from health care professionals for years, it is so refreshing to see someone who remembers your name and the details of your last conversation. Kalina works so hard in every session and I finally have some relief. I can't say enough great things about her and the staff at North Portland Wellness. The North Portland Wellness Center has stepped into my life and has done the unthinkable?.after 13 years of being on strong sleeping medication I am now able to sleep med free. Instead I go to acupuncture with Annabelle or Lili 2x monthly and wall-ah! more

A friend of mine recommended that I go see Glenda when I complained of recurring back pain. She is fabulous! She's down to earth and knowledgeable. Unlike most traditional Western doctors, she spends ample time listening and asking questions to get a holistic view of your health and needs. The only drawback for me has been finding appointment times; booking further ahead is helpful. more

What a lovely, peaceful and quiet place. Every time I stop in - whether for a massage, chiropractic appointment or just to pick up a few supplements I want to stay. This is an oasis in our busy city. The building and gardens are lovely, and each practitioner offers excellent support and information for every aspect of my health. Highly recommended! more

NPWC accepts Kaiser insurance, which is how I've been able to go for monthly massages this past year. What a gift! The building is beautiful, the staff is welcoming and courteous, and the massages have been GREAT! I also love their steps toward sustainability--solar panels, water catchment, a discount for getting here by bike or on foot...It's a place you can feel really good about supporting, and they support in return with practices for good health. I have seen two acupuncturists at the Center: Lili and Colleen. Both are caring, knowledgeable practitioners who are clearly gifted healers. I trust them with my care, and look forward to my appointments. The Center itself is serene and the front desk staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. more

Annabelle Snow at the North Portland Wellness Center is just a gem of a find for acupuncture here in Portland, Oregon. Ever since I met her, I've been impressed with her kind disposition, insightful questions and comments about one's state of mind (and body), and calming use of overall good energy. Every time I leave Annabelle's office I feel relaxed, more healed, and all tingly with the effects of the acupuncture. I sleep well, have much less of a bad stress level, and am able to feel like I'm starting over. In addition, the North Portland Wellness Center is just a wonderful facility/home to receive a treatment in. There are acupuncturists, massage therapists, and more. Annabelle is also a herbalist and has made some excellent choices while working in conjunction with me; certain herbs have helped with my digestion, stress levels, and sleeping patterns. NPWC has warm accented lighting, soft music playing in the background, a nice supply of health/spirituality related magazines to choose from while you?re waiting, and a constant stock of hot teas and cold water to soothe you. I had not been to an acupuncturist before, and after going to NPWC and working with Annabelle, I doubt I'll ever go anywhere else. more
