A Retreat In The City 4/27/2006

We all need to slow down and connect with nature. You will find deers living on the grounds of this center as well as geese, ducks and goldfish in their man-made pond. There a three different walking paths to choose from and they all lead back to the center's main building were they have a rec. room for kids to play and learn. They are specimens of animals there and they also use the building for gatherings like storytelling. The building is also a meeting spot for tour guides and other activities. The center is also connected to Peterson Park. more

I get a peaceful, easy feeling 3/19/2006

Oh, great, now Don Henley will sue me for stealing his words...good thing he's not a member of Judy's Book! This is a special place to me. You feel like you're lost in another world and it's only steps away from the insanity of big city living. They have a great walking trail where you will actually see deer and other creatures strolling about in the wild, there's a stream with weeping willows, and inside the building a nature exhibit. more
