I prefer Santa Rosa Children's Hospital for...childrens needs. While the esthetics and location may be better at NC Baptist, the support staff in the pediatric wing are not as nice as Santa Rosa's. I loved the ER doctor and nurse named Michelle(British accent). Once we were admitted, Dr. Zuckerman was our doctor. He was a lovely and knowledgeable man. The Chaplain was also delightful to visit with. But the nurses, not so much. That is who we deal with the majority of the time. If we ever need to admit my son into the hospital :/, I will not be choosing NC Baptist. more

\r Friday March 08, 2013, after work my wife stopped at the Fossil creek urgent care clinic, close to our house, she felt numbness at the right side of her mouth. She saw the doctor and he said she have to go quickly to the ER service in a hospital because it might be a stroke.\r I drove her to the north central Baptist hospital around 6:00pm and we started to wait in the ER service (the waiting room was empty), finally a nurse took my wife in charge and tried to place an IV on her arm and failed, later a specialist!!!! Place on her hand.\r Fifteen minutes after she had a bad discomfort for a short time, later a doctor came and asked some questions following a procedure. Twenty minutes later she had signs of a stroke, she can’t answer questions, don’t have control of her arms, the nurse did nothing; I ran at the front desk, asked a doctor for do something because I scared about. The same Doctor finally performs tests again and orders a CAT scan.\r When we received the results of blood test, EKG and a CAT SCAN everything was normal, they don’t said nothing to us, but my present daughter comments, she is a nursing director. Doctor decided to admit her overnight for a MRI, he knew that we don’t have any insurance, but he insisted. We waited again for a room until 10:00pm, a doctor came for consultation (a dancing doctor because is very difficult for a patient to answer questions when the doctor don’t stop to move her body side to side). The doctor said she had to stay overnight and the next day a MRI will be perform, no more emergency? Without insurance my wife choice to leave, the doctor wrote a prescription for Aspirin 325mg? Nothing else and we left at 11:00pm.\r Monday March 11, 2013 I received a phone call from the hospital that we have to pay $13,243.00? Bills from doctors and lab work (blood tests- EKG- CAT SCAN……) not included. The lady asks me if we have $2000 in the bank and how many car we own, very strange question! May be the hospital want to take my car for payment? Anyway, that’s unacceptable , the incompetence and careless of the people working there is scary when you think how they are putting people's lives at stake, the only thing they are interested about is your wallet and over charge you, they don’t care of your health problems.\r I hope my story help people to stay away from this hospital that is the top worst in town.\r \r more

Great Hospital 4/24/2012

I had my son back in February and I would highly recommend this hospital. I had an awesome experience, the security was amazing- I literally had no worries about my son. The nurses were so nice and attentive to me, I never had a need for anything. The staff came to check in on me and my son constantly, they called me to see what I wanted to eat. Everyone was very caring and very informative if I had questions or concerns. They made my stay there very comfortable. more

Be prepared for a disappointment 8/29/2011

We were scheduled to induce labor at this hospital for the past month. We were given the time a week before hand, and when we showed up (10 minutes early) we were informed that our time was filled due to the hospital being full. I can understand that, but what is disappointing is the steps taken by the hospital afterwards. You would think they would say we are on standby for the next available room, but instead we were bumped 3 days later. This is unacceptable treatment in my opinion as the benefit of inducing is that you can have your family travel based on the circumstances. Now everyone will be here 3 days early, and IF we get in at the 3 day mark our family will have a day before they fly home. Thanks North Central Baptist!! You know how to make memories that are special for a family. more

Newborn Nursery 7/5/2011

Everyone in the newborn nursery was exceptional with my newborn nephew. The nurse who attended to him in the nursery obviously truly cared, it was not just a job to her. My brother and sister-in-law were very pleased with the care and support received at this hospital before, during and following the birth. The security is exceptional - they even have the rooms and nursery area set up so that the only door in and out of the entire ward is constantly locked and everyone who comes in has to be ""buzzed"" in, ensuring the safety and security of all inside. more

Patients beware! 3/22/2011

The worst hospital and service center ever! My aunt was going to have knee surgery there in December. They made her wait for 2 hours to have her pre-op lab work done. They had a mix up and called her a day later to have her come again because they had missed some. If this wasn't bad enough. On the day of the surgery, we got there at 4 am for pre-op and after having her already in a room, hooked up to an IV, the anesthesiologist says he doesn't like her electrocardiogram (taken 3 days before) and cancels the operation. What kind of hospital makes you come in twice for lab tests, makes you wait for 2 hours and then is extremely rude about it!? Seriously, don't waste your time and energy and if you can avoid this place all together I would. The incompetence of the people working there is scary when you think how they are putting people's lives at stake. more
