North Bay Truck Center

I had called around to a few shops in the area with Northbay truck center being one of my first shops reached. Jim in the service center answered the phone and returned my call only a few short minutes later with an estimate. He quoted me a Great price on my truck repairs, and they promptly repaired my vehicle same day. I feel that I definitely got my money's worth at this shop and quick honest service. It was my first time here and will not be my last. I would absolutely recommend this shop to anyone of my friends and family. Thanks to Jim in the service department and the great team of technicians at the shop. I have never had any problems with North Bay Truck Center. They are pretty good, and I have no reason to doubt them. If I need an oil change, tire service, or someone to take a look at the air conditioner, whatever it happens to be, Jim gets me in there the same day. I try to call a day before, but sometimes I call the same day, and he never turns me down. They do a pretty good job at getting stuff done in one day for me because they know I need it for work. I joined Pak West a year and a half ago to find that we really let our trucks go into disrepair. Early this year, we got aggressive to get our trucks back up to speed. My supervisor had been on board with North Bay Truck Center for a little while, and we have been working particularly close with them for the better part of this year. They've got good intentions, but they are human, and there have been a couple of big, expensive mistakes, bordering on incompetency even. There were a couple of issues with the work not actually being done even, and we would have to make several return trips to fix what should have been fixed on one trip. I don't mean to bash them, and I don't have an ax to grind or anything. I'm happy to do business with them. They mean well, and they put their best foot forward. They just need to be a little better on getting the job done, knowing what the job details, and giving correct quotes as far as timing goes and when the trucks will be ready. Pak West, like a lot of their customers, depend on our vehicles, because they are what make us our money, and when a truck isn't ready we have to switch to Plan B, and then our service suffers because of it. I'm a truck driver, but I'm also mechanically inclined, so I do understand what they have to do, and I work with them closely and as best I can. They are good folks, and they mean well. They're getting to know me and what I expect, and what we need. Our trucks were in great disrepair, so they've had to deal with that, and it's been an uphill climb to get all the trucks processed, but I appreciate that they can still laugh at themselves when mistakes are made. I look forward to working with them and seeing what we can do in the coming year. more

I have very high standards of how things should be fixed. North Bay Truck Center fixes things up to my standards, and if I need to take something back to them, they'll work on it and make it right. They are a good bunch of guys, they communicate well and are professional. Jim Barnes is personal, caring and very easy going. Some companies are out to make a lot of money and could care less about the customers, not this place. They are always looking out for their customers best interests. B. I have gone to North Bay Truck for a long time and the personal service is the best! Jim Buell has gone over the top on several occassions to help me. No other shop comes close to the service I have received from North Bay. The rest of your staff have been MORE than helpful. Our Truck with 5th Wheel in tow broke down Friday morning Labor Day week-end just outside of Fairfield. A Large Tow Truck came to our rescue and recommended NBTC - "A top notch" repair facility". Our faith in humanity restored as we were towed to NBTC! Turns out the fuel pump needed replacement. This crew worked until the Truck was repaired and we were back on the road by 6pm! Wow! From the tow truck driver "Drew" (who took us down town Fairfield - pointing out the best places for lunch) to the great "Crew" who worked overtime, Jim & Cindy ~ we can't thank them enough! Their expertise, professionalism and thoughtfulness was above and beyond. We only wish the garage was closer to our home we'd change mechanics in a minute. We would diffidently recommend NBTC! North Bay Truck Center does all our heavy truck stuff. They mostly do work that we can't do here, like the air conditioners. I don't have any problems with them, and I think the quality is good. more

My company handles explosives, and in our industry, we can't afford to have transport vehicles down for very long. North Bay Truck Center are very responsive, and we can count on them to get our trucks back up and running quickly. They are also good at anticipating if a job will take longer than we expect, and will give us a heads up so we can make other arrangements. They coordinate repairs with an understanding of what kind of business we are, which is an asset. We've been using North Bay Truck for close to 10 years now. They are very trustworthy. The service is good, and we are happy with it. When there's an issue with one of our vehicles, they make sure to answers our concerns, and send out their best technicians, guys that we are familiar with. Their road service is good, too. They have always been able to accommodate us. more

I have 18 trucks in my fleet, and North Bay Truck Center services them all. I've used them for about seven years now, and they do a good job. I've had no issues. They are a local company, too, and I prefer to support local businesses. I have to give North Bay a good recommendation. I won't call them lightening fast, but they give you a time frame for completing the job, and they pretty much stick with it. They treat you fairly, have good prices, and the service is good. I came on in July of last year, so North Bay Truck Center was already an existing vendor. We put a lot of extra work on them, as far as new trucking tools go, and they worked hand-in-hand with us. So far, I've been pretty satisfied with them. They follow up when follow up is needed, and they take care of issues when we need them to. Sure, you'll always have a couple of bumps in the road, but otherwise I've been pretty satisfied. more
