One of our beloved kitties Banshee had reached the end of his time and we were sad that we had to make this decision but it was the right one for him. I called North Austin Animal Hospital & made the appt. for two days later. When my husband and I brought him in Dr. Harris & his staff were so wonderful. During the examination Dr. Harris told us exactly what was going to happen & how. After Banshee was examined to make sure that it really was his time we were given time with Banshee to say our goodbyes. After our goodbyes they were so sweet to us & you can tell the whole staff are animal lovers. I brought Ditch in for an appointment & to pick-up Banshees ashes & his pawprint. The technician gave me a hug for our loss of Banshee. The care that Dr. Harris takes to explain & his attention are wonderful and you instantly feel a connection. Dr. Harris doesn't try to sell you on anything nor does his staff & the cost was exactly what a vet should be charging. I will continue to use North Austin Animal Hospital as long as I am in Austin. Wonderful people who LOVE animals & it shows. Very satisfied. more

Very Good vet care 8/20/2010

I was very happy with the entire staff, I came there because the Vet I was going to was getting so overbooked that the last time I brought my Dog there they gave him his shots in the waiting room. I really feel you do get what you pay for.,Dr. Price was very nice and took her time with both of my Dogs and really seemed to care. My Dogs are my babys and I want the very best for them so if I have to pay more for better care I don't mind at all. I would very much tell people to bring thier pets here. more

Relax while on holiday, babies are in great hands!! 9/14/2009

We have two dogs and a cat, the staff and Dr. Mouser at North Austin made us feel very safe leaving our pets there to board. The got all their shots and checkups while boarding. Not only was the price great, but our pets seemed really happy and well kept when we picked them up!! Having had some REALLY awful experiences (with a horrible female vet down town) we were thrilled to find this hidden jewel!!! more

To the Rescue!! 6/19/2009

Dr. Mouser is amazing. Extremely concerned with getting my dog well, and not about the money. I just moved here and went to a different vet who treated me horribly. She was a very rude lady, and after this I began to worry I'd never find a vet like the one I had back home. Dr. Mouser to my rescue! He was very thorough and explained each and every thing he did to my dog and why he was doing it. I will definitely recommend him to to all my friends here. The other staff members were very friendly and didn't make me feel awkward or uneasy. Even the awesome orange cat was nice:) GO THERE! You won't be disappointed. more

AWESOME!!!! 6/18/2009

I've had pets my whole life, and have had veterinary experiences all over the map. Dr. Mouser is the best vet I've ever worked with! I would drive all over Austin to keep him as my vet if he ever moved to a new office. He is friendly and professional. His concern is keeping your pet healthy, not with charging you an arm and a leg. The support staff is top notch. My dog loves to go in there and is always treated better than I could ask for. more

Your dog will thank you! 6/18/2009

My name is Ginsburg, and I'm a puppy. I love going to see Dr. Mouser at NAAH. The techs are always gentle with me, and everybody gives me treats! Dr. Mouser makes me feel better when I'm sick, and does his best to make sure I don't get sick in the first place. I didn't even mind it when I had to stay overnight for pneumonia treatment. I've heard my master say they aren't too expensive, but I'm a dog and don't know what that means. If you go to NAAH, tell everyone there that Ginsburg says 'Hi!'. Pros: Dr. Mouser and his support staff more

My recent visit 6/5/2009

Citing other vets in the area, this hospital has prices that fit my budget. I found all staff alert, friendly and helpful. Yes, possibly others have found employment turnover distracting but it's true in other offices as well. I have no problem returning to this office to serve my veterinary needs. Pros: A satisfactory experience Cons: none more

Good Right Now, But... 5/28/2009

I took both our dogs in for vaccinations and found Dr. Mouser and the vet techs very personable and they handled the dogs very well. \r \r Now, I have been using this office for years and while I have usually been happy with them, I really would like to know what the deal is with their turnover rate! Every year or so it seems like the entire staff turns over, and all the doctors leave, too. I liked Dr. Mockler, and after that, Dr. Silvers, and then Dr. Lopez, but now they are all gone, and I'm not counting on Dr. Mouser being there for very long either. Am considering changing vets just so I will know who I'm dealing with whenever I go! more

? 4/30/2009

All was well and I was happy to see them a few times over the course of the year to take my old dog in for checkups. When we had to put him to sleep I felt it tacky and uncomfortable having to sign forms before we even put him down. Very emotional day for us and the timing was bad. Felt it could have been handled better. more

Too many changes too fast 3/26/2009

This place has more staff changes than I can count. I noticed there are no longer the names of the vets up on the building *(they used to keep them up there and occasionally change them to add a new addition) but I guess even the veterinarians change all the time now as well as support staff. Pros: none Cons: everything, constant staff changes.. more

Love them. 3/23/2009

We have two cats that we routinely take to Dr. Mouser. Not only is he just the nicest man alive, he is a skilled and compassionate veterinarian as well. He is certified to administer holistic treatments as well as acupuncture and alternative medicines all along with the usual stuff. He is not pushy or rushed, and we always get exactly what we need. We love the vet techs (Nicole!!) and they seem to have been around for quite a while, so you know there is some stability around there...\r \r We had the misfortune of having one of our cats pass away at the clinic around Christmas time and the staff as well as Dr. Mouser were kind, caring and really, really comforting and reassuring to us. We know everything was done for him that could have possibly been done, and that he was with people who cared about him at his final hour. \r \r That's really all you can ask of a vet and his staff, that they care about your pets as much as you do and act in accordance. We will be loyal to them no matter wh more

Great Visit! 2/3/2009

I took my 17 year old cat there the other day and saw the new vet Dr. Mouser. From the minute I walked in the staff was extremely professional. They greeted me by name and called my cat by her name, and I was new there! Dr. Mouser was great and instead of throwing a bunch of medications at her, he discussed doing acupuncture and conservative treatment. Overall Great experience. more

Changed a lot 1/3/2009

It seems like whenever I call someone new answers the phone. Turnover is always a red flag to me but then I found my vet is no longer there. We saw her only a month ago.\r I was upset because my fiance's dog is high maintenance and seemed to be comfortable with this vet but anyway.. I think we need a place that has more consistency all around. We order food from them but will stop that soon too as prices keep getting higher (we found a better deal too).\r \r They closed a few minutes early too and we had to wait up front and knock on the door to pick up the dog from boarding. It seemed like they weren't going to answer but we saw their cars in the lot so just waited. Awkward and a bit of a hassle. Not a good fit for us. more

Some Concerns 10/22/2008

It was fine and they got me in and the vets (saw 2 different ones, both professional) answered questions. I went home with the wrong medication more than once. First time I noticed and thought heck, I did leave right when they were closing and people were all checking out. But another time it happened and my cat got medication for a dog. My wife almost gave it to him too. It could have been a disaster and hurt our cat. Not the worst but def. need to tighten up the ship, so to speak. more

a little sloppy 10/3/2008

My pup got ticks the last several times she stayed there. They said she probably already had them but I know for certain she didn't (I get her groomed regularly, etc). They also forgot to give her a bath twice when I was there to pick up after boarding and charged me for it. To their credit they refunded the bath after I got home and noticed and called them. They seem to have room for boarding a lot but unless other places are booked I wouldn't really recommend. more

Not impressed 9/28/2008

Went here b/c I'm pretty new to Austin and a coworker went a few times. It's close so I made an appt same day which was good. But once I was there it seemed that not everyone is on the same page. The girl up front seemed like she couldn't be bothered and it wasn't the most friendly place. My doc was good, she explained stuff but they forgot to put my meds in the bag and I made another trip back to get them (hours later I had to go to work). Not the worst but given the high prices I expect more efficiency for sure. more

caring, respectful staff 6/29/2008

I have only good things to say about this place. I had originally taken my cat there a few years ago and the experience was satisfactory, but when I took her back again about a year ago, they had changed management or something, because it was all new staff and veterinarians. However, it was a welcome change. Dr. Silvers is wonderful and really seems to care about all the animals. She answered all of my questions, and even called to check on my cat after she had a very upset tummy. It's those extra little touches that are what put NAAH above all other vets I've taken my animals to. Plus, the male vet techs are quite cute! Pros: customer service, caring staff Cons: facility could use a little updating more

What a relief! 6/4/2008

Of utmost importance...I finally received the thorough truth regarding my two pets. Veterinary care is not cheap ANYWHERE and if it is...you get what you pay for. Dr. Silvers is a concerned, honest and very thorough veterinarian and I recommend giving this clinic a second chance. The staff has changed, for the better.\r I have been to more clinics than I care to remember and overall, I'll stay with this one. more

Strange and expensive! 4/15/2008

I went here b/c a friend had a vet tech buddy who worked there. The front staff seems to have high turnover, which may or may not be unusual. But the girls up front are pretty rude. I went to a doctor there (Dr. Mockler) who was great, clearly loved animals and was really down to earth. Then when I called to set an appt. with her they were short when I requested Mockler and were weird when I asked what happened to her. I had just seen her recently and wanted to do a follow up and of course wanted the same doc for that. I gave another doctor there a try and was not thrilled so finally got the name of the place Mockler went and will see her there. This vet really raises their prices ridiculous mark up and I found it is corporately owned. \r The staff also talk trash about some of the patients be warned. I was in a room and heard someone (he was a vet tech I think) making fun of a patient and then some others joined in. Very thin walls maybe they forgot? Not what I want to hear when I am more

Awesome Staff 3/4/2008

I have noticed nice changes in the last year or so. Dr. Silvers is really great and takes her time explaining the medical diagnosis.. The front office manager Jill is awesome and really seems to have a handle on the staff and is great with my big dog.... more
