Give a try and then you will know what is called the WORST!! 3/3/2011

Urban Active in Legacy Village has such a nice location and surround resources. Why all the working staff ruined the equipment! You could try to come in and get a tour! the only thing they want is get you sign up to be a member. Then they definitely not tell you how to stop or cancel it, every year they are gonna charge extra fee in January. I could only find the busy like a bee front desk and sales!!!! SALES!!! Even the personal training, as soon as you clear tell them that you are not interest sign up. Their face turned so evil and could say thing back to you very irrespectly. The most devil is the ASSISSTENT MANAGER: M*A*R*K!!! Except mussel, he only have the ""$"" in his giant, ugly, evil, dirty, nasty body and brain!!! If you don't trust me, please give a try more

The worst customer service I have ever experienced 10/28/2010

Although I like the equipment at Urban Active, and it is convenient for me--I cannot give this gym more than one star due to the appalling way customers are treated. First, I took a leave of absense due to some surgery. I had a doctor's note. Although there was a fee, I was supposed to have my monthly membership dues put on hold for 2 months. This did not happen and when I came to inquire about it, I was told that my credit would be ruined if I refused to pay. Despite these problems, I gave the gym another chance becasue it is so convenient and I have a personal trainer I like. When my contract expired, I negotiated a new contract at a better rate. However, my credit card was overcharged for 3 months. I did not realize it at first because I had some medical problems but discovered the problem by the second month. The gym owed me the amount of $100. I came in to talk to someone in charge--this proved quite difficult. First I was told that my contract had never been scanned into the computer. I brought it in on 4 separate occassions so it could be scanned in--but each time I came back, I was again told, it could not be found. In the third month, I told the manager that I would have my credit card stop payments because my card was again charged with the wrong amount and I had still not been reimbursed. Her response was that they would ruin my credit! Such wonderful customer service! This manager was fired shortly thereafter. I ended up overpaying the third month before I resolved the issue with my credit card company--so Urban Active now owes me $150.00. The correct amount started appearing on my credit card statement, but I was not reimbursed for the months I was overcharged. I decided to keep my membership (again becasue of the convenience and my trainer) but to work on getting reimbursed. I was happy when a nicer, new manager was hired, but alas, it has now been almost a year and I have not seen one penny of the $150.00. The people I have worked with in resolving this have repeatedly told me that the money was credited to my credit card account. I have actually had to bring in my records to prove to them that this was not done! Then they told me a check had been mailed to me! It is funny that i did not receive such check yet have never missed any of the junk mail they send out. If I call the gym, no one ever returns my call. It has been so frustrating. And I have been treated quite rudely by most of the staff. I can't believe they would be so ready to upset and anger their customers over $150.00. Is that really worth it to them? I can't believe I spent so much time and energy trying to get the money back. It seems a lawsuit is the only way to resolve this matter. Of course, I am an idiot for staying there as long as I did. Convenience and training is not worth being treated the way this gym treats their customers. more

STAY AWAY FROM FREE PERSONAL TRAINING -JACK IS A BULLY 6/23/2010

_06/23/2010 - I signed up with Urban Active about 9 months ago and have found my experience to be less than. First off, the desk staff never acknowledge you, (considering my membership is paying their salary) just snatch your keychain out of your hand and swipe you through. I have taken to stopping and saying hello how are you before I move from the desk. I don't care how busy you think you are, you need to acknowledge me. Second, this $15 semi-annual fee; the first came out in Jan and the second in July. Based on the number of people I see in there weekly, I should see some new machines by now. I have not witnessed any anywhere throughout the facility. I'm talking brand new stuff should have arrived by now. That is a rip off. Third, the exercise/yoga room. It is extremely disturbing to have yoga in this dirty, stinky room and outside of it, people are dropping weights that move the floor and loud TVs and music going on. Totally takes away from the yoga experience. Need a separate room for yoga away from the weight room. Fourth and final, STAY AWAY FROM THE PERSONAL TRAINING. They will offer you a so-called free session. It turns into a bully session by the Training Mgr. Jack Junkett. It was 2 on 1. I never felt so bullied in my life. The cost is almost $200/month and I told them that does not meet my budget at all. They have high turnover of personal training staff. They will start to take it down to almost $66/month and I ended up signing the contract on the pad. I did not provide my card information and after I thought about it, I cancelled. They informed me that I could not cancel and now I am afraid that crap is on my credit report. This place is not the best. While it has lots of exercise equipment and loud music, may want to try it out before you sign up. Fitworks on Wilson Mills is much better, smaller and more personable. The price is affordable too. Pros: Lots of equipment, usually available, decent location Cons: Rude employees, Personal training high pressure tactics more
