I wanted to try scandinavian food for quite some time and finally went to this place. The food here is just disgusting. It tastes like its been sitting in the pantry for ages. I ordered fish which had so much salt on it that it made me nauseated. My husband's meat loaf was too thin and rubbery. I will strictly recommend people NOT go to this place. I have lived in Downey for many years and have been to every restaurant that has opened and I have to say this is by far the worse when it comes to customer service! The owner is obviously not a happy camper and it has been said that some of the locals only like to show when she is not present. I have had many friends try out the place as well and all I heard was how SLOW the service is and how unpleasant some of the people that work there are. It truly is a sad thing because the building itself is beautiful and is one of the only original buildings left in Downey! more

This is a great great restaurant! If you're sick of eating mexican or chinese for the umpteenth time this week. Come down to the Nordic Fox and be greeted by some of the most finest people this side of goteburg. Live oldies music is played on the weekends. (Though I wish it was awesome folk music . ) They also have a nice little gift shop inside the restaurant. Where you can purchase troll dolls, viking hats, crafts, mugs, and what not. The food was mediocre. I went with the scandanavian spiced meat loaf. I'm a meat loaf fiend, what can I say? The sunday special was a mere $6. (Salad Included) I will return in the future to pillage the menu in true viking fashion!!! Hazaar!!!!! Pros: Service, Wooden Walls, Gift Shop more
