YUM 6/1/2009

I've been going here for my sushi since moving here for college, used to drive up from Detroit just to get it. \r Fish is always top notch, no worries here. Great selection at the sushi bar and the grocery is well stocked with Japanese products. Definitely the best sushi joint in the metro area\r \r more

It's the bomb !! 3/2/2009

Can't go wrong with this one. Worth the wait , and the miso gets you open while you wait. You just have to get there on time. Cause when the ""hunger"" hits late , you out of luck to. more

Want Sushi- don't go anywere else but here. 1/16/2009

I have been going to Nobel Fish for at least 10 years. The quality has never changed the servers/sushi chefs are knowlegable and have been perfecting their craft for eons (one of the chefs worked in a sushi bar that I would go to circa 1984). The fish is always fresh, vegies fresh also and the tea is wonderful. My Favs would be the Michigan Roll.( don't know why they call it that for the ingredients are not indigenous to this state)- love the spicy tuna treatment/with the avacodo. I love also the miso soup. Other mentions would have to be the shrimp tempora roll and dynamite ( a darn-if-I-know mix of seafood that is cooked to form a pancake.)I have traveled many places and even places that are right on the occan can not compare with the taste of Nobel fish. The prices are also reasonable ... but watch it the sneek up a few cents every few months. Nobana is the daughter of Nobel fish and good if you like atmosphere with your food and are in the Troy-Rochester area. Nobana is higher in price also so you pay for that lovely atmosphere. I rather get my own tea and water and wait for the hole-in-the-wall seating to enjoy the BEST SUSHI IN THE STATE!!! at the best price. Pros: Fresh and wonderful Sushi Cons: Small space to eat , can get very crowded, don't park at ACO's they will call the cops and get you a ticket. more

Best sushi in the area, by far! 9/14/2008

My husband and I have been wanting to try this place for a long time, but they are not open late. We went last Sunday and it was fantastic! The sushi was fresh and delicious and the service was very fast. Nothing fancy on the inside, but clean and friendly. Pros: Excellent food, fresh sushi Cons: Not open past 7:00 pm most days more

Best Sushi Around! 2/12/2008

Noble Fish has the best, most authentic sushi in the Detroit area - possibly in all of Michigan. In fact, I've been all over the country, and Noble Fish rivals some of the best sushi bars I've been to on the West Coast. The grocery store is great too, and the whole experience really brings me back to my days in Japan. They sell Asahi and Sapporo beer, and even some of my ""konbini"" (Japanese convenience store) favorites such as soba sandwiches and unadon. This has been one of my weekly stops since I moved to Royal Oak. Pros: Excellent and fresh sushi, friendly service, good selection of Japanese groceries Cons: Hard to get a table at peak times, parking can fill up more

Freshest Sushi ! 11/18/2007

Noble Fish is the freshest Sushi around ...The price is extrodinare and the staff is very friendly .\r Also alot of neat wares......and very interesting food products mmmmmmmmm..\r If you like Sushi you'll love Nobles Pros: The freshest........ Cons: Sometimes it's hard to get a spot to park ...... more

BEST sushi in SE michigan 7/8/2007

good sushi is hard to come by here, i've tried nami (overrated, poor service, rude staff) and cafe sushi (delicious, but a little pricey) but noble fish is hands-down the best sushi in the area. it's a quaint atmosphere - the staff is very friendly and they serve extremely fresh fish with large portions. i'm sad i didn't discover this place earlier. for those who have tried yotsuba, saica, or miki's in ann arbor, i would definitely rate noble fish among the same class as these places, if not better. the only negative is the atmosphere, it's an in-and-out place, good for carry out, but not exactly dine-in. the tables are small and you'll probably have to wait to get seated, but it's definitely worth the wait. the prices are very reasonable, too. anybody who loves sushi should give noble fish a shot. you won't be disappointed. Pros: portion size, freshest fish Cons: limited seating more

Best sushi, casual atmosphere, authentic japanese grocery and retail 7/7/2007

The sushi is wonderful and moderately priced. Every piece of fish is remarkably fresh and succulent. It's best to plan for take-out, because the small seating area fills quickly.\r \r At noble fish, you will find an excellent selection of fresh, frozen and packaged groceries, including some rare treats - imported gobo (burdock) came in this week.\r \r It's a great little variety store. They offer some housewares and novelty items - ranging from teapots and dishes to origami paper. You may rent Japanese movies. I highly recommend browsing the candy selection for fun gifts.\r \r (And always remember to park in back. Neighboring ACO Hardware is quick to ticket or tow your vehicle if you park in their lot.) Pros: fresh, good selection, great variety, friendly service, clean, popular Cons: closed on Monday more

Loves it 5/6/2007

It's a grocery store with a little sushi bar in the back, you can buy fresh fish to shampoo and if you like to collect toys they have the coolest toys. The seating is small and packed in but it gives for a great experience and people don't sit long and chit-chat so you don't end up waiting forever. Order your food after you sit down if there's a wait for a table, or take it to go and it's just as good. They have prepackaged that you can buy that's also to die for. I recommend getting one of the drinks from the cooler that has the marble in it, strawberry and peach are the best...the Hello Kitty one taste kind of like Sprite. There's also a bunch of drawings on the wall from patrons that adds a nice touch. Pros: Quick and great Ambience Cons: Parking - don't park in the ACE hardware lot, they ticket more

Noble Fish is the Best Sushi you can find, very inexpensive to you can afford to tip the chefs 4/21/2007

Small Sushi bar in the back of a great unique Japanese Market, the eating area has about 8 two person tables, so be there during off peak times if you like to eat out. They do made to order carry-out as well as pre-made daily selections along with fresh filets of Sashmi grade fish for you to take home.\r Noble has the best selection of fish (Marlins, Snappers, etc.) and THE FRESHEST FISH IN THE METRO AREA because they supply a number of different Sushi places with fish. And they have no stupid rolls with 10 different kinds of fish in the same roll, pretty much your standard rolls. \r The rolls and Sashmi are always expertly made because the Rice is so well prepared and never falls apart easily. \r I hate to write such a review because there's only one table my wheelchair can fit at and if it gets too busy (like it is often) then I can't eat there.\r Pros: Super fresh, some different fish, very cheap Cons: small seating area, too busy more

Great hole in the wall!! 4/3/2007

I have some friends that I go with that drive 40 miles to go to Nami. Best sushi around! The wait staff are ready to help with whatever they can. The only drawback is that it is very small and you get your own tea and water out of styrofoam cups but I happen to think that is part of it's charm. Nami is addicting. Pros: Food and service Cons: It's very small and the parking isn't the best. more

Great sushi, neat atmosphere 3/25/2007

This sushi bar is in the back of a Japanese grocery store, which features cozy (japanese type of cozy) seating, long waits if you go there in the wrong time, good sushi and definitely good price. The place is down to earth. You'll find people from all walks of life (more professionals) eating there without an attitude of this being some kind of place to be seen. It's very busy, the wait for sushi may be a bit, but the Miso soup comes right up, as well as the self service green tea. The rolls are excellent, the sushi is mostly fresh as turnover is high. Yes, I do recomend michigan roll. If you sit at the bar, you'll find the chefs friendly and down to earth. After your meal, you can shop for all the Japanese groceries you like. Yes, there is one place better, which is Ajishin...but that's 30 minutes away. Pros: Suchi, Miso, friendly people Cons: the wait more

Best Sushi in Oakland 1/19/2007

As a sushi connoisseur, I think this place is great. To summarize...\r This place is crowded, parking is terrible...\r But, the sushi is cheap, and the Best sushi in Oakland county.\r To my opinion, only Ajishin in Novi is better. \r Pros: sushi, price Cons: parking, crowded more

great value! 11/26/2006

20 dollars for dinner for 2! try the michigan roll very good. this place is kinda weird because the restaurant is in the back of the store and its really small and the hours are weird too but the people there are really nice its wortha try for sure! Pros: good sushi Cons: hours, restaurant to small more

Fresh Sushi 7/29/2006

Noble Fish is good but it is not so convienent. The restaurant closes at 7pm and on all day Monday. During lunch time, it is always so crowded. I think we would probably go more often if it wasn't so inconvienent. However, the food is very good and if you're a sushi lover, this is a must try. Pros: Good food Cons: Hard to get a seat and close for dinner more

If you love sushi, then Noble Fish is your place 5/27/2006

Hands down Noble Fish is the best sushi for the buck in Detroit. The service is very good and the sushi even better. I moved away from Detroit, but whenever Im back in town I make sure to make a visit in for sushi. Pros: Cheap more
