Good: Nothing, Dr. Snyder performed malpractice on me.. Bad: Everything. This hospital doesn;t perform to the gold standard that all hospitals should.. Improvements: Fire doctors that perform malpractice like Dr. Scott Snyder. Other: This hospital will protect their doctors before helping you out even in the case of mal practice. This hospital hires quacks!!!! Whatever you do, dont come here for an emergency. YOu will pay 10 times what you want....especially when you have to go see 3 more doctors to fix what Dr. Snyder screwed up. Dont go here. It's a nightmare. more

Let me qualify that when I say "like a vacation", I am referring to their maternity section. My daughter had her baby there last year and WOW things sure have changes since I had a child! Their rooms were all private labor and delivery rooms and they were the best attended as any I have ever seen. My daughter's every whim was catered to and the medical care was topnotch. This hospital caters to families and encourages visitors. In-room meals are available for gusts and the food is amazingly good! It was like having room service--I didn't want my daughter to leave! In addition, there are was a small kitchenette just across the hall with unlimited juice, cookies and crackers. When our little one finally made her arrival, she was treated like royalty--it made us feel like we were the only patients on the floor--which was definitely not the case. If you get to choose your labor and delivery hospital, then by all means go to Avista! more

Sometimes hospitals are not the best place in the world to be, but if you have to go to one, you should go to Avista. Whether you need stitches, surgery or are having a baby (all of which my family has been there for), you know you are in good hands. The Doctors and Nurses are all very caring and are always there for you. The labor and delivery section is especially wonderful, with large, private rooms and round the clock care! You would think you were in a hotel! If you are able to eat, I have to say, they have some of the best food around! I get cravings for their chocolate cream pie! more
