Nick's Tavern

One of the best hamburgers I have ever eaten! This is a hand made 1 pound burger. I saw other people eating other fare such as beef and dogs, but I wont' waste the experience on nothing less than that burger. The people are friendly, great service and it just has that home town feel, One of my very favorite places to go eat and chill with family and friends more

WE HEARD THAT THERE BURGERS WERE GREAT. WE WENT THERE TODAY, TO TRY THEM. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY. THE BURGERS WERE DRY & TASTELESS. THE BUN WAS HARD AS A ROCK. THE GRILLED ONIONS WERE OVERCOOKED. MY WIFE DIDN'T EVEN LIKE THE PICKLES. I HAD A DOUBLE 1/4 LB-ER AT Mc D'S LAST WEEK. IT WAS 5 TIMES BETTER THAN NICK'S BURGER & IT COST LESS THAN $4.00. more

Lets try and set the record straight about Nick's....On 5-5-11 a negative review was posted about the owners because Karen & Bob were let go....I dont know the reason why they are gone.....On 5-6-11 we get 4 reviews praising the new owners and staff...In the following days we get more positive reviews about the new staff and negatives about Bob & Karen....Obviously someone didnt like the review from 5-5-11 and a flood of fraudulent reviews followed the neagative one....After awhile hardly any reviews are posted.....Anybody with a brain can see what happened here.......I will give my opinion on Nick's.....I have never had a bad burger there and yes there are better burgers but its more than acceptable.....I was a fan of Bob & Karen and was sorry to see them go....There is a review that said that the previous bartender[Bob] was unfriendly....Nothing could be further from the truth...The new manager wasnt very friendly the few times i went in there after that but i havent been going there that much....I went in for a drink during the car show and he never waited on us so we left....The following time i went in there was a awful sewer smell so of course i didnt stay ....The biggest downer of them all is that the prices have been raised TWICE this year in a bad economy...A bag of Cheddar Fries that were less than a $1 are now over $2...The Burger that was $6 is now $8... The Burger is pretty good but not worth the money anymore in my opinion....Im not telling anyone to avoid the place but it was a much friendlier atmosphere under the old manager.... more

Say this little tavern on Chicago' Best the other day, and I am a big guy that likes big cheeseburgers. So why not give this a try? My brother and I made the trip to Lemont and they were having a car show right in front of Nicks. We sat inside, and they were packed! I can see why. DELICIOUS, DELICIOUS, DELICIOUS. We are going back this weekend. Did I Mention DELICIOUS!!!!!!!! more

When you crave a Nick Burger, you have to feed the crave. Went last night and geez it was so good. I admit, I was kinda doing the boycott thing because the old manager was let go. But I must admit, I was part of the problem myself. They were so nice, letting me drink and eat all night for $5.00, so I felt obligated to leave a large tip. I truly thought they were the owners, and when I found out they were not, I am embarraseed, I should have known better. When a long time business goes out, because the employees are helping themselves, it is all of our faults, Long live Nicks and all of the Lemont Business's especially in these difficult time. more

Paid 8 bucks for a very overcooked burger. Didn't even come with fries, just attitude. Don't waste your time. more

We went to the first car show of the year tonight and as we were walking by Nick's we saw they were cooking food outside by a dumpster. Gross! We chose Lemont House instead - it seemed more sanitary! more

LOVE the new staff at Nick's. Friendly and ready to serve you. Can't beat the burger either. Cooked just how you want it and no attitude! The upgrades from the previous owners too were long overdue and look great. Look forward to the Wednesday car shows and a buger and cold beer. more

Went in with a few friends on Friday Night. The place was packed. We thought we would have to wait forever to get our order taken and our food to our table. The new staff did not miss a beat. Order was taken promptly and our food was served in a timely fashion. Every order was exactly the way we ordered it, and it tasted so good! Will be back to Nicks! more

Got back from a trip and took off to Nick's for a great burger and bowl of chili. They have an all new staff and let me tell you - they are friendlier, more courteous and the service is so much quicker. The burger was fantastic and kudos to the new chef. The chili is excellent!! \r \r more

I don't usually go to the trouble of posting a review but I was so excited about Nick's Tavern that I felt I had to! I loved the old Nick's and like any happy patron was worried about changes when the new owners came in. I was so pleased to see that the new owners were able to maintain the atmosphere of the old Nick's and still find ways to make it their own. The place looks fantastic, the staff is courteous and friendly and most importantly the food is out of this world! Congratulations to all for a fine job! more

All I have to say is what a great change over at Nick's Tavern! I went on Saturday night and the new bartender, April was friendly and energetic. The previous bartender did not even talk to you! It is nice to see a refreshing change at the traditional bar. Still providing the same, great burgers!!!! more

Went Saturday Night, Crappy Bartender Gone, Had Fun with Matt & Al. Had Burgers, (best I ever had) and Chili which tasted really fresh and homemade. Going back, had a great time. Fresh Faces, really made me feel at home, not like the old staff which made me feel like they had to do some work! If you have been in the last year, go back, its wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better! more

A great place I have been going there for over 15 years the new owners are great. Burger's are great and I love the beef's. I have even told many friend's and family that come to Lemont for the car show's about it and they love it also. It is so nice and clean. Great place to visit. more

Nick's is a great place. Food is great, new owners are very friendly and go out of the way to help. They have upgraded from the dump that the former employees used to run. The place will thrive with new staff. I'm sure the new manager will be more professional and kinder than the former-thank god! GO NICKS you are LEMONT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more

Wow, I am not sure where the negative reviews have any validity. Since the new owners have come in the place I'd say it's a '10' and a much better place. They kept the integrity of Nick's with a facelift that complimented what was already in place and a HUGE cleanup (bathrooms - need I say more). I also love the new staff. VERY attentive and VERY happy to see you there. Nick's was and always will resemble the quaintness of our town. Thank you for cleaning house and putting new staff in place that doesn't want to push me out the door and is happy I am there. Great job new owners....Don't sweat the bad reviews, I am guessing they come from the old dogs that worked there before. KEEP UP THE GREAT JOB! more

We love the fun new crowd at Nick's tavern. The food is awesome, drinks are great, & the new owners are fun & young! There is a great new energy there!! Everyone is so friendly and the price of their food is a great deal for what delicious items are served. In this economy even I could afford to frequent Nick's and have fun doing it. I shouldn't share this but during the PGA tour you might spot some pro golfers at Nick's. Hope to see you there. more

Since the new owner's took over back in 2010 they have run this place down. It's not a very good place to go to anymore. They got rid of all the old worker's. The only one that came came back was Karen, she is the greatest. I think she is what brings the old atmoshpere back to the place. Unfortunatly, they have since gotten rid of her in Apr. So sad. So as for me and my friends that used to go in there, we won't be patronizing this establishment any longer without Karen there. She was what made the place to begin with. The new owner's are just 3 guys that have no buisiness owning the place to begin with. I will miss the Novak's and Karen. They were what made the place. To bad for Lemont. Hopefully Karen will stay somewhere in Lemont. As far as Nick's go's.....let the ship sink with it's blowhole Capt. co Capt. and Al. Good~by Nick's!! more
