Best steak ever 10/17/2009

Once you get past the hospital-like curtain next to the front door, Ngon has a very nice interior. Simple but classy. I do understand the necessity of the curtain though as there are tables directly behind it. I ordered a rabbit dumpling appetizer with an entree of grass-fed steak with vegetables and rice and the dessert special of ice cream cheesecake. The meal was wonderful, one of the best I've had in a long time. The only other thing I would mention about Ngon is that the waitress (Leslie) seemed to actively resent serving us and when she took our check, she tucked the folder into the back of her underwear. Nothing else to say about that. You should try it anyway, great fusion food. Pros: Delicious organic ingredients Cons: Waitress more

Good wholesome food! 2/1/2006

This restaurant has been around for quite a few years and I'm surprised I haven't ventured in before...it's a nice surprise and the food doesn't disappoint. To be honest, I'm an old-school noodle soup (pho) fan but I've tried their Bun Bo Hue (with the Pho noodles of course), which is a heartier (is that's possible??) and spicier version of their Pho. If you're so hardcore that you ask for the thinly sliced beef on the side (because it cooks in the boiling soup WHILE they walk it out to you)...they're very accomodating and think it's cool. :-) Their fresh spring rolls are addicting, and believe it or not, their vegetarian egg rolls are BETTER than their regular ones! The pork egg rolls are de-lish, and I'm no vegetarian, but I'm not sure how I got hooked on the vegetarian egg rolls! So light and crispy...drooling just thinking about them. Pros: Awesome Soups, Real Dishes: non-soup, Fab Prices Cons: Street Parking more

Hidden Gem.. 7/7/2003

I have been going to Pho Anh eversince they opened in 2000 and they have never failed to satisfy my need for great noodle soup (PHO). They are a wholy underated restaurant that is hidden, which is a part if its charm. I have tried all the various Pho Restaurants in St. Paul area and the Pho Soup provided at Pho Anh is the best in St. Paul hands down. The Soup is very flavorful w/ geneorus portions of desired meat and vegatables, which makes for a great value as well!! Give Pho Anh a chance, you wil definetly not regret it!! Pros: GREAT FOOD, INEXPENSIVE, Never TOO CROWDED Cons: Ambiance Not perfect more
