I am a concerned pet owner, and quite possibly an overly sensitive one. That means I take my dog to the vet A LOT. The folks at Newport Beach Veterinary are always friendly, willing to help with big and small issues alike, and they never make me feel like just a patient or a number. The receptionists are engaging, friendly and calming. The rest of the team is responsive and prompt. The doctors and technicians are always caring and thorough - exactly what I wish my own doctor would learn from. I continue to refer everyone I know to Dr. Cohen, for emergencies and other care of pets. I have been to other vets in town and elsewhere and believe that this place provides the best care - hands down - of any vet. The staff treat all animals like their own. Couldn't ask for better ! more

Our experiences with Dr Cohen and his staff has been exceptional to say the least. We first met Dr Cohen in the 80's and followed him everywhere and to the current location (over 20 years). This vet hospital team has been extremely effective, attentive and sensitive to all issues, whether emergency, serious or standard care.Our biggest fear is the day Dr. C is not practicing anymore or any potential relocation and not having him within commuting distance (we come from far-- approx. 45 minute drive) but as we hear he is building an even more impressive hospital just a few doors away, we know we'll see him for years to come! Thank goodness! Five stars are not sufficient! Recommend this veterinarian above the rest! more

State-of-the-art doctor which for me is way more important than the equipment! (I know first hand they have lots of gadgets though as I'm in that medical equipment business.) Great support staff too. You'll be making an excellent choice in Dr. Cohen. more

We will always go back to Dr. Cohen! We love Dr Cohen and his staff. With two dogs and two cats, we spend a lot of time there and never once had anything but a GREAT experience. Dr. Cohen was very kind, gentle and caring when we had to put down our beloved Golden Retriever. I HIGHLY recommend him. Staff was friendly with me and my pet. We met them many years ago when they removed our dog's post-spay stitches [done at a different vet] for free and did a great job handling her for a nail clipping and then gave her a free bath while we waited as a *Welcome*! We will definitely be going back to them forever. more

After thoroughly researching and diligently combing the internet for knowledgeable vets, I found Newport Beach Hospital was the best of the best with a internal specialist veterinarian as the owner/vet. Dr. Cohen does regular things plus special things. He is amazing. I immediately felt comfortable with the office receptionists. Stepping into the office, they warmly welcomed both me and my pet. I asked them the standard questions. Both were extremely nice and helpful and I felt at ease with the knowledge and the information they had given me that was way above any I had received at other offices. The office is very charming, spotless, and peaceful. Everyone there was thoughtful and gentle. Every other person with their pet had nothing but glowing remarks for Dr. Cohen. I even heard his wife sleeps over with the sick pets. The dedication is sky high. I could tell that Dr. Cohen had worked with scared pets before and was very knowledgeable and delivered tender care. He handled my crazy (sometimes) dog like a pro and my boy calmed in his arms. When the doctor talks, you understand everything and never feel stupid. The intellectual and comfort level of this veterinary office is way above standard. A++++ Recommendation. more

Today I took my baby to this clinic. This Doctor must have been sent from God himself. His prices were affordable for me, and his services and him, his self are worth much more. He took his time talking to me about my Baby, ran the test that should have been run at the other vets office. I know my dog and the rest of my bunch is, and will be in great hands now. He's not a doctor that rushes you in, takes your money, does little for your babies and pushes you out the door without giving you some answers to what might be going on. He gave me advice beyond the reasons I was there today. I felt so comfortable and so did my baby. Strangely, my dog knew he was in good hands. Doctors need to take some lessons from this doctor, not just vets, but all doctors, and we would have a much better, happier, healthier world. He will always be my babies doctor. Once you go here your search will be over. He's great, his staff is too, they were helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and very professional from the moment I made the appointment, you can always tell a friendly good doctor is by how the staff reacts to you, the office is really special and very clean, my first thought when I went in was, " oh gosh this is going to cost me more money then I have" It cost me a lot less then I even thought and in the end, a lot less than at vets that did not have any answer or help for my Baby but took my dollars anyway. I can go on and on how this doctor made my baby (feline) and I feel today and that was great! Thank you Doc Cohen for loving the Babies of the world! You're truly a gift from above! It feels so good to have ended my search. You deserve more than five stars. more

Through the years I have met many veterinarians, but never one as compassionate as Dr. Cohen. I have been taking my two chihuahuas to him for going on 2 years and in December 2008, I had to put my 13 year old to sleep. Dr. Cohen and his staff were very caring and this made the difference for me. Susie was with me for almost 13 years and she was the best friend that anyone could ever have. I miss her, but know that she was in good hands with Dr. Jeff Cohen. It took me a long time to find a vet I could trust to take care of my babies, Dr Cohen and wife Deborah are so amazing no matter what they are up against. From my Labrador that eats everything, my Golden Retriever with severe allergies to my cat needing treatment for respiratory illness Dr. C. knows his stuff. I would recommend Newport Beach Vet Clinic on the PCH to anyone wanting the BEST for their pet! I just found out he was a specialist in vet med which makes sense now--a specialist for the price of a regular vet---it's a no brainer! more

By far the finest dog and cat hospital in the Newport Coastal area. We found out the hard way after we visited another place near Fashion Island and another in Costa Mesa and our pets--and our wallets---suffered for it. Now we only trust the folks at this vet near the Bay Club and although the service is very high class, it's reasonable for the area. more

My mom and both my sisters take their pets to this lovely small vet hospital and we are always treated so well and we cannot think of going elsewhere after being "spoiled" by the special care we get from Dr. Cohen. He's so smart and so compassionate. Take your beloved pet here; it's the best! more

The staff is rude, the services are over-priced and they will perform procedures without authorization. You can't even get a consult from the vet - the staff does it for him. Save yourself the headache - there are so many other great vets in this area. more

This is a really nice hospital very clean. It's small, but state of the art. Dr. Cohen has been in this location for years. The staff is nice and the prices are typical. It is hard to get in to see the doctor, because he is very, very busy and usually booked weeks in advance. more
